I think Dabo should verify and confirm whether Spurrier really made the comment or not before going off as he did....really needed to stay focused on the task at hand this weekend.
I've heard it was Todd Ellis on the radio and not Spurrier.
Tigers got beat last weekend, move on.

So yeah, Spurrier is dbag numero uno....but the quickest, surest way to shut him up is winning. Beating USC year in and year out is a tradition I look forward to renewing soon. BUT if Clemson goes 8-0 and every year and doesn't realize there are still at least 4 more games left AND that they haven't accomplished squat...it will be like watching reruns, the only difference will be the "actors".

Clemson is still Clemson. The difference is that SCar hired a 6-time SEC champ, 1-time National championship HOF coach. Predictably, he recruited well and converted a weak (6-5) SCar program into a tough SEC contender. Clemson promoted a WR coach.

After a lot of Clemson "fans" have started to sell tickets, nobody seemingly fired up for the game, im sure there have been letters and emails to the AD. Just doesnt seem to pass the sniff test to me, thought the Price interview was a bit off too - like it was staged. Anyway - agreed with all he said and will be there in CLT Sat night.

Do you seriously think that Steve Spurrier knows, in real time, what is posted on the Gamecock's Twitter account? I doubt he even visits it periodically, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's never visited it. Does Clemson football have a such a Twitter page? I've never seen it because I could care less about that stuff. If I can't be bothered reading a Twitter account, I have no doubt that Steve Spurrier can't be bothered. He's probably busy coaching.

You seem to be so thorough, but this time you have missed it. The interviewer asked about the comments that Spurrier had made. Dabo said, and please be sure to go back and listen, because he said that IF Coach Spurrier had said those things, then ... The way the question was stated it was as if stevie did say them, and that is what prompted the response from Dabo. I do not doubt for a moment that stevie may have said those things and Todd Ellis just repeated what he heard, but Dabo's response was quite accurate. We have owned them for a long time, and they can't do anything about that. True they are winning a little now, but who knows how long that will last. There is no class about them. That is a fact.

Dabo started his comments by saying he didn't even know if Spurrier said it. At that point it is irrelevant, and his comment stands alone, apart from who said what. What Dabo said was brilliant. I'm in broadcasting and do marketing for a living and can tell you, this was brilliant. The players will use this as motivation to support him this weekend. Brilliant.

Dabo's comments are a big distraction for the ACCCG and they'll be posted in the SCar locker room next year for motivation. Time spent by Dabo and the team dealing with this dust up, is time not spent preparing.

So let's get you on the record here. Do you think it's OK for a responsible adult in public life, to respond to a question with a dubious, false premise by saying:

It's an if/then statement. It is not definitive. Again, are you capable of comprehending that or not?
It's perfectly reasonable and responsible, especially in light of the fact everyone, including the reporter who phrased it that way, to assume the quote was Spurrier's since the school said it was his and he didn't deny it. Even in light of that, Dabo didn't make any definitive statements like you continually accuse him of doing.
Simply put, you're wrong, just as you usually are when you get stuck in your box.

In spite of all that, Dabo did NOT make a single definitive statement in that regard. Like I said, it was an if/then statement, so it was in no way irresponsible, or a "tirade", or any of the other gibberish you suggest.

Coach D absolutely SHOULD NOT APOLOGIZE to that jerk at USuC because he is dead on with what he said. I don't like some of the results of the past few weeks like most other TRUE Tiger fans but I am not about to throw our team under the bus. This is Dabo's third season....we are going to our 2nd ACCCG and top notch recruits seem to be lining up waiting for the chance to play for Clemson. Don't know for sure what caused the late season plunge....fatigue/injuries on the O line? Lack of experienced depth? other teams picking up our tendencies and adjusting to us better than we adjusted to their changes? Lost the "edge" when we clinched? I don't know, but I am proud of what has been accomplished so far and look forward to our football future as it looks very bright. So, COACH, continue to defend our U and team and keep that fire burning in the belly....I for one support your efforts as you too will improve with experience.....GO TIGERS!!!!!
