See this is to me typical of stupid knee jerk acc junk. Why make the change when you have ND in the works. wait and see if you snag them. if you do then no 9 game junk. and once you sag them you know you are going back to 8. do it then by teleconf if necess. if it would have been better a month ago. do it a month ago.

I swear Swoff just tries at times to botch things up I think. NO sooner do you get the old series dropped than you need to reschedule. what stupidity by the ACC

I somewhat agree but I think all of this was contingent on

ND and they had to get the dominoes lined up first. Pitt/Syracuse was the close on the ND addition and then the $60M buyout solidified things. The BB schools aren't threatened any longer with being left out and the FB schools get appeased for hanging in. Though I've questioned Swoffy's crap in the past, I believe this is one time the ACC brass pulled one out of their A$$.

As far as the conference schedule is concerned....

Oct 3, 2012, 6:17 PM

going forward, it will be interesting to see what the league does.

Obviously, the Division opponents for 2013 are set with BC, FSU, @ Maryland, @ NC State, Wake and Syracuse (location not yet know). Clemson's permanent oppoent form the Coastal is @ Georgia Tech which is seven games.

Right now, Clemson is schediled to face Virginia in Charlottesville and Duke at home in 2013 which means either Duke or UVa will get dropped from the 2013 schedule unless, of course, the league completely overhauls the entire schedule and we end up playing Miami or VT (again).

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Whomever. Next year, we want to play the best anywhere.***
