FFS we only have $4T of imports. Tax them ALL at 100% (tariffs), and we still run a milti-trillion dollar deficit. Believe the guy who says $2T of governemnt spending has been cut. Go ahead and believe the guy who broke prior trade agreements HE MADE with Japan, Mexico, and Canada, and probably others. Go ahead and believe the guy who said one day covid will just go away. My wife has it right now, as do I. Go ahead and believe the guy who said he could end the Ukraine war in 24 hours. Go ahead and think they're eating the cats and dogs. Go ahead and just inject some bleach. Go ahead and believe Canada is a major source of fentanyl coming into the US. Go ahead and believe whatever you want.
Because investors are not believing that. Wall street is not believing him. Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger never believed him. Even Ken griffin doesn't believe him. Rand Paul doesn't believe him. No one Congress believes him, except a dozen GOP nutjobs. No leaders of other nations believe him, nor trust him. The federal reserve doesn't believe him. The world is losing faith in America as never before in my lifetime. Got a relative who fought in WW2? Trump is dishonoring them perhaps the most IMHO. They sacrificed the most, and provided the prosperity we have taken for granted for many subsequent generations. 80 years of alliances, 80 years of friendships, 80 years of power, 80 years of unprecedented HUMAN PEACE ON EARTH, 80 years of prosperity, 80 years of good will, 80 years of trust, 80 years of respect, out the window.
If you want to follow Trump's foreign policy, then we should change our national symbol from a high-flying, far-seeing, far reaching, fierce bald eagle, to a BOX TURTLE. Because that's the foreign policy he promotes. Crawl up in our little shell and ignore the world around us.

Trump routinely says things that are directly and 100% contradictory to what he previously said or posted. This afternoon or tomorrow he could say there have been no trade negotiations with China. Other than MAGA cultists, no one throughout the world believes what Trump says is credible.

Prior to 2025 I would’ve always said I trust anybody in the US government more.
Today, April 2025, I trust the PRC spokesman more.
I’m not the only one that feels this way, and this is extremely important to the investment community globally.
The US is becoming a less attractive place to invest. This is because of macro economics, but also because of waning trust and confidence in the judiciary, the regulatory authorities and the capital capital markets in the United States.
