schedule- how many times did we "pull a clemson" ? heck, it seems like we were on upset alert for 12 consecutive ballgames, only to lose twice- once to a #4 team on the road (at the time) and a #11 team (in the rivalry game). look back at the pre-season prediction threads on t-net and see what you had us projected. let's give our team some kudo's and get behind them in atlanta. i am already looking forward to the '13 campaign, and a win against lsu on dec. 31st would do wonders for our teams mindset heading into off-season work-outs, and hopefully, sway a couple of our undecided prospects in our favor.

bot our record doesnt state that we are good.best team we beat was ball state.the rest of the teams we beat had 7 or fewer wins.would have been nice to either beat fsu or usuc so we could at least have something to show for the record.conference title and no win over the rival.

we can get that top-10 win against lsu, but my main point was that every year we hear the talking heads say pulling a "clemson", it was nice to be able to shut them up about that. now, we can move on to the next step, which is beating the teams that are ranked higher than we are.

I think our guys worked their tails off....lots of psoitives this year...the fact that they did not tank games that they were favored to win says a lot about the maturation process of this team and this coaching staff...I have pulled for CU since 1963 & can't imagine anyone who wants to see us continue to improve our program, go undefeated, etc than I do. I know we are still a work in progress BUT I am so proud of the players and staff. We have fine young men & dedicated coaches who are doing things the right way & are creating an atmosphere that a lot of good kids want to be a part of. With that said, we will NOT get every recruit that we want and go after BUT we will get our share & I truly believe that we are not far off from being a major player. Just wish folks would get ALL IN or get the hell ALL OUT....the coaches and staff are moving things in a positive spin... Get off their case & give them some lolve for the fine job they are doing...we will soon get to where we all want to be

You are correct;we didn't'pull a Clemson". However it does not change the fact that our schedule was weak. And your argument against losing to the #4 team on the road doesn't hold much water since our other loss to a rank team ocuured at home,in a night game so many people clamored for. Looking back ,which is easy to do,I said Clemson would be a 10-2,or 9-3 team.I had us losing to FSU,one of the two Tech's,possibly State, but beating South Carolina at home. Beating LSU would do wonders, but unless we can find away to neutralize their two bookends( DE's),and stop not one ,but a stable of four RB's it could be a long nite in Ga.

If I remember correctly, Scar had 24 yards rushing 1st half.

Numbers were skewed by sacks and scrambles, but they didn't run against us very well all night. That long drive that started in the third and ended with an interception was mostly passes and PIs on long yardage, though they did manage to run a few draws. If Venables does nothing else, I'd love to see SOMEONE stay home in the middle. As far as their DEs, we should run sweeps to Montgomery's side and run at Mingo.

You want #'s? Ok,by your account they rushed for 24 yrd in the first half. They ended up with a total of 134 rushing yds.How many yds was that in the second half? Meanwhile, LSU ran for a total of 258 yrds against the coots. Skew the numbers all you want,LSU's stable of running backs scare me more than Miles and Davis.

Our "Weak" schedule would be moot if we had beat USC or FSU...

Because that would give us the ability to say that we cannot help the fact that the rest of the ACC is down but look at us...we are not only beating the weak teams but we are handling the quality teams............That didn't happen.
Now if we beat LSU, that will be a game changer on a national level.....
If we lose to LSU, we will just be a very good ACC team, which right now ain't worth a plug fart in a stiff breeze....

It's pretty simple really. If this team beats LSU, they are as good as many people here claim and the orange tinted glasses might have clear lenses afterall. If LSU blows us out, it's going to be a long off-season dealing with the reality of the ACC.

defense? Their offense isn't stellar but let's be real, Wren High School would score points on this pisspoor defense at Clemson. Our offense, based on the USuC game, will get throttled again because LSU has a defense just as good if not better than Clowney and company.
Chad Morris, what the #### were you thinking? You abandoned the run, had virtually no screen or pressure release passes and did nothing to slow down their d line. You lost us that game.

Not with LSU's offense. But it could be 27-7.

I believe we can beat them as long as we have a solid game plan and win the TO battle. Can't cough it up and expect to win.

If he wins he can get some of us back on his side but if he loses this game with this much preparation time and supposedly this much talent then hes in trouble. He has to at least compete very well in this game. A blowout and in all honesty I think it dooms him.

The only one that even semi had the capability to beat us really was NC State and we did try late in the game to give it away but we our ran them.

This. Even when we pulled a Clemson in past years it wasn't against FCS level talent. That was the level of talent the ACC had this year. BC and Wake would've had losing records in the SoCon. Maryland's issues were mainly injury related, but they were terrible. NC State was wildly inconsistent. And the entire Coastal was just pathetic.

But i will agree that everything changes if we beat LSU. The SC losses still hurt, but LSU beat SC, FLA, and should've beaten Alabama. Knock them off and everything looks up for next year. But lose to them especially in convincing fashion, and you're just the second best team in a terrible conference hiding behind 10 very weak wins.

South Carolina game was our most meaningful game of the year...lots on the line, 12 win home-streak, ability to end our 3 game skid, 4 pt favorite, and an opponent who's struggled on the road and comes in without a key RB and others. We had the deck stacked in our favor and we somehow...decided to change away from our first half run strategy and go to a "Clowney meet Boyd strategy" in the 2nd half which got Boyd killed and put the defense back on the field quickly. No...we didn't lose to Duke or Furman and we beat Md's 5th string QB. Heck...at least 2 of our wins came against teams that got their coaches fired...NcSt and BC. But...tanking in the 2nd half at Fl St and home against Usuc feels to me about the same losing in the past to Md or GT when we shouldn't have.

superior to md. or gatech. it hurts to lose to usuc because we are their daddy, but hey, i beat my dad a few times in sports, too. ( it sure took long enough though, and i didn't win nearly enough for him to stop ribbing me! dang, i miss that, too. i think i would let him win now, just so he could tease me about beating me.)
