I'm on week 15 of eating these meals. 15 weeks of eating stuff from any one place and it all starts to taste the same. Down 22 lbs, hovering around 15% body fat (goal is 12), and am looking nice, but I wonder if it's really worth it.

I still eat steak, fried chimken, ice cream, all that but it's restricted to Saturdays. It's about this time during the week when a big ol slice of chocolate cake looks really good.

Sometimes you wonder if there's more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking.

Clean eats is pretty easy. You don't have to be that perfect. Skirt steak is lean. Scrap the ice cream for yogurt with granola, honey, and berries. There are tons of great meals that are good for you too. The thing I won't ever give up is bread though. I love quality bread.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it's all about your choices every meal, and habits. Roll wit close to what

you're doing, you'll continue to lose or maintain. Hit your goal, and you've got modest flexibility in what you eat. Or want to eat. Once habits are broken and you see results, theoretically you'll hang close to healthy habits, with splurges. I lost 25 lbs on the old Atkins diet, and remain hovering in that range, now eating mostly healthy-ish w/ splurges. Helps that Mrs No works harder, w/ less splurges than me. Think of it as recalibrating your eating. Once habits are broken, it ain't really too hard.
FWIW, I'm no diet junky/guru/nazi. But I lost 25 lbs and have maintained that for many yrs. Still slightly overweight, but don't care. Good Luck.

losing the unwanted fat.

Losing weight is actually a pretty easy formula. Doing so while trying to lift heavy weight 6 days a week requires a special balance - the right macros, the right amount of rest, the right supplementation. I could easily survive and thrive on 1500 calories a day and lose 2-3 lbs a week, but I would be borderline useless in the gym haha

Good on you for maintaining that for so long!!!

cause it essentially would eliminate meal prep, but is it stuff with a lot of preservatives and whatnot in it? We been looking more at what's not naturally occuring in things more than the actual caloric makeup of things. It's easier for me though cause I'm a hard gainer so I can basically eat whatever I want.

Been testing a theory here lately...are farts raunchier and smellier on the days you lift versus no-lift? I feel like my body's digesting things harder on those days and is making a more potent smell from breaking stuff down more.

Most of the meals are actually pretty mid. There are some

I actually enjoy eating, but I'm eating it because it's the only way I know to get enough variety without sacrificing a whole Sunday on meal prep. The macros are also really good.

The problem with a lot of the meal prep delivery services is that they've kinda latched on to the "low-carb" and "keto" craze, which makes their meals laughable in terms of macros. For example, a typical Factor meal will look something like this:

30 grams of protein (120 cals)
50 grams of fat (450 cals)
30 grams of carbs (120 cals)

That's 690 total calories for one meal, which isn't terrible but 2/3 of the calories in the thing come from fats, usually butter and oil. So, they taste better, but are calorie dense and have so much fat that they slow your metabolism down and weigh you down and make you feel like crap.

CleanEatz has macros that look more like this:

45 grams of protein (180 calories
12 grams of fat (110 calories)
50 grams of carbs (200 calorie)

That's 490 calories and the majority comes from carbs and proteins. A meal like this is much more conducive to someone who is active in the gym. This macro breakdown basically mirrors that of my intake goals for the day. Theoretically, if I ate 5 of these meals, it would be a "perfect" day of eating. The same is not true for any other meal prep service I've found.

It's a time savings more than anything. I'm sure they use some genetically modified stuff.

Yeah but I think their target audience is not lifters, but rather

Sees me walk to the kitchen table and eat a bowl of rice and chicken and broccoli

"Omg if I ate that rice I would put on 20 lbs overnight"

No, #####. It's the 3000 calories of butter and bacon you're stuffing your face with. 200 calories of rice is not going to make you fat.

I do Factor75 for every lunch. It's pricey, but saves me from running out for lunch and trying to figure out my healthiest options.

Used to do it for lunch and dinner, but got tired of eating the same 4 meals over and over.

somtimes 6 days a week, I have a little bit of a belly. But I don't really care because I eat what I want (most of the time) and don't have anxiety about food anymore. I just workout hard and the belly can do what it wants. Cause all the other indicators tell me I am super healthy.
