You're trolling for an argument over the fundamentalist group of which you disagree. Dabo on the other hand isn't taking side with anyone, spin it how you want.
Dabo is confirming his position on Christian values which has become an excellent way to recruit players of high character and moral attitudes. From those he selects the best football players. We rollin.

I have not commented on any of the numerous post about whether or not people agree with this group or whether or not Dabo should accept the award. One can argue in circles for days on who is right and who is wrong but it really doesn't matter.
I logged onto internet explorer last night and the first thing that scrolls across the MSN home page is that article so I was passing it along for anyone that may have not seen it.
All I care about is that we keep our heads down and keep winning, keep building an elite program, and keep bringing in top recruiting classes.

That he supports a group who hates gay people and doesn't support equality for all.
Dabo is a public figure. He doesn't have to come out and say he doesn't like gay people. He doesn't have to say that gay people are perverted like a previous commentor on this thread. By attending the event he is supporting their agenda. His silence on their stance on gays speaks volumes.

It's MSN. Consider the source!! They didn't have a problem when Ray Tanner spoke to same group. The Libs only believe in free speech if it's what they want to hear!

They're loving this. Politicians do. They know it will get hits and stir up tension. I'm sure they'll label them as a hate group too because they don't share the same beliefs. I don't hate people who are are gay but there's no good way to argue that it isn't a perversion. I'll leave it at that. This will blow over just like the other stuff.

I don't care who you are, that's funny! ( as Larry the cable Guy would say ) Be careful, saying "blow over" to the LGBT crowd might be "HATE speech"...Although, in their case, it probably should be considered "LOVE speech".

If it was any other person in the country or school I wouldn't have thought twice about or even clicked the article. Just thought it interesting the story had made it to the home page. If you look this morning they've already moved on to newer things.

He is merely accepting an award from what I have read on the subject. I have no problems with the LGBT community, but how can they tell people to respect their beliefs and then condemn another for their beliefs? Not saying Dabo is against the LGBT community. Just feel it is a little hypocritical. Like I said he is only accepting an award for being a good role model. Not for being against any one's beliefs.

personal choices....yada yada yada", that is where he loses me and while the man clearly knows football, his holding on to this ridiculous belief gay folks choose to be gay just baffles me. I know he isn't alone in this belief. My wish is all these people just end up with a gay son or daughter and have to face their bigotry head on. "What happened? I did everything to make sure he is a man or she is a woman! I don't get it!"

but playing devils advocate-- there are may people who agree that being born gay is not a choice but that engaging in those activities are--- in other words you don't have to do it. You can be born with an additive behavior but you still make a choice to drink, doing drugs,etc.-whatever your vice is; People are born with strong hetero compulsions-- many believe those shouldn't be acted on unless you're married- yet those people make a choice to act on those or not in a pre-marital stage of their life(again-- a choice even though you were born a certain way).
Disclaimer: None of the above suggests how I may or may not feel on any of these subjects. It's a personal choice to whether you want to convey your own beliefs on a public forum

to belong to, associate with, accept awards from groups you don't agree with in totality. NO 2 people agree exactly the same and no group is a reflection of a 100% of what the individuals believe. There is a lot of media BS, a lot of blackmailing, and forced ideology going on in this world that is totally f'd up.
I vote a certain way 95% of the time but consider myself independent. Most social issues shouldn't be any part of the govt/political process IMO and I don't agree with the party I vote for most of the time on most social issues. I still vote for them-- why? because I agree with them on the things I think matter- diplomatic relations/security/economic issues.

Nobody interesting is ever entirely "non-controversial"

And, besides, if you always let other people be the ones to decide what's controversial and what's not, avoiding being controversial just makes you a pretty corrupt and unprincipled person.
