Instead of claiming little brother complex's or Clemson hiring one of your own. He was just an assistant, graduated/played elsewhere,he always have a friendship with the HC(Tanner)that gave him the chance. BUT, the truth is,he chose Clemson, was not willing to wait for the USuC job to be open next. Seems like former players,he doesn't want to in Cracktown either.

I said something similar a while back and someone corrected me by stating that Holbrook was always the coach in waiting. That may have been the case but Monte still might have taken some issue to not being given that same opportunity.

Coaches move when they perceive they have a better option. These are just a handful that come to mind who have coached at both places.
