Can one of you Monte Lee guys explain to me how he can possibly keep his job after this season?

In year 7 he has failed to make it out of a regional. His will now fail to make the postseason two straight years in years 6 and 7. The trajectory of his program is unarguably going down. He doesn’t even have a Saturday or Sunday starting pitcher in his 7th year as coach.
I’d love to hear a rational reason for him to be retained to a historical top 15 college baseball tram after his 7 year tenure.
(And it doesn’t matter if they come back and win today. Unless they pretty much win out, they aren’t making the tournament.)

Don’t think you’ll get any disagreement. He’s done and good riddance. I’d like to have at least a decent team again.

Part of their contracts is to not criticize Clemson coaches

If Brownell can do it , Monte can too.

I don’t really see many “Monte guys”

I see plenty of Brad guys and anti Brad guys that won’t give it a rest
I’m a Clemson guy first and foremost. I will never pull against any Clemson team or coach just to further my agenda. I will, however, limit my monetary and emotional investment in relation to long term productivity.
I would like to see any coach or program critically reviewed every year or two. We should not accept mediocrity in any program, regardless of competition or history. If you make excuses, don’t require personal responsibility from the players and coaches, and accept average or worse, that’s exactly what you’ll get. It’s true in life, it’s true in business, and it’s true in sports

I agree best should be standard but it seems many don’t know or think they know what best is. We donate and we strive for excellence but we get called dumb or other bizarre things and called coots if we disagree or not real supporters. I hope I am wrong but when I see stuff and it’s predictable and in front of your face what needs to be done. I’ll say it. Doesn’t mean I’m hoping we lose to prove a point. I hope they win the rest of the games and I am wrong. But bottom line of anyone think this team is going somewhere with the staff in place and the program for the future. I want what y’all are having to think this or say this.

The same logic I guess to keep BB. Maybe another letter will be sent, with the future expectations?

No comparison to Brownell. Clemson basketball isn’t a historical top 15 program like Clemson baseball.

So sad. A once proud very good program brought so far down. Can’t even compare to basketball. Approaching entropy. I’m hoping for changes.

I was very much behind the Monty Lee hire, But his performance so far is unacceptable . He was hired to take us from a regional/super regional team to national title, and he’s gone the other direction

Monte architected a team over several seasons of only his staff’s instruction that are dead pull fast ball seeking hitters (Ingle excluded), marginal in the field, and a majority of pitchers that are not ACC caliber. They just got smoked by another team that can hit to all fields, steal bases at will, and play strong defense. The only comparison is the poor quality of their pitching rosters. The Cardinals have worked their way up to the top of the Atlantic and the Tigers have not. Time for a Clemson baseball rebuild. No point to delay any longer, it’s going to painful but hopefully a new direction will bring back the Clemson baseball we remember in a few years.
