you stopped watching because of the early season losses, I recommend giving them another shot. Alex Brown, Maddie Moore and Aby Vieira are having great senior seasons.

I was the guy that said when the freshman gel they will be better than last years team. Pitching is coming around. Development of Megatron aka Cintron on the mound will take them to CWS! This lineup has no holes! They headed to ACC title run!!!

were really in just about every game. Errors, mental mistakes (freshman/new team stuff) and no Maddie kept us from winning a few more early games. I would like to see Macey get in a little more...she's worthy.

Team has definitely improved dramatically. McCubbin is pitching much better than earlier in the year and Basinger has been a very reliable transfer addition. Schedule is favorable this year as we avoid both Florida State and Virginia Tech in the regular season. Should get a #3 or possibly #2 seed in the ACC tournament. Taking the series on the road against Stanford was HUGE! (Then sweeping NC State on the road to avoid a letdown.)
Ranked #18 in RPI before accounting for the weekend games. Probably a long shot at hosting a Regional. Would be nice to take the game against South Carolina this week.

Rittman gets the credit but do you really think that Maddie, Abby, and Alex just happened to learn how to hit simply by being a year older?
Tons, if not most of the credit has to go to
Katie “Crash” Repole. I hope one day she becomes our coach.
Yes, Cintron is the real deal. We knew that. Same with Knowler. Sadly she was hurt last year but I don't think that made a difference.
We're a good team in a bad conference. Except for Duke, we've avoided the two other good teams. Uva is OK but I doubt they make the regional.
Excellent road series win against Stanford. But Stanford doesn't have pitching. We're pretty much a carbon copy of Stanford. I don't see us winning the acc. We could sneak up and win a regional... depending on draw, and we can hit.
Well, you say, we beat uga... which at the time looked like a great win. Don't discount our early losses. Other teams gel too. But a loss is a loss. Look at our record vs the sec teams we've played. Those teams we lost to and the one we beat are in the bottom half. Most bottom 3rd.
Yeah, it feels like we play a lot of freshman, but so do the other good teams around the country. We're not pitching freshman, less Macey and that's not much. Our infield are all veterans except at short... that's where you need the vets.
So, I'll give props to Katie and our other staff. Val, Millie, Spencer, and Clark, Logoleo et al had more effect on recruiting than John did. I've always said, Clemson would be a hotbed for softball because it's popular down here. Most of you will disagree with my assessment but it's jmho.

not sure I want her as our next head coach though (don't know enough about her). As far as Aby, Maddie, and Alex, I don't think that they learned how to hit over a year, but also don't believe that they just learned to hit after Katie got here. Maddie and Alex hit well last year; Vieira was unfortunately injured and just never got on track. It seems like something was going on in the dugout last year that we're just not privy to...last year was a wee bit disappointing.
I have questioned some of the decisions by Rittman (still do), but I also question most of our other coaches at times...I'm a good after-the-fact, hindsight’s 20-20, armchair coach.

I never got down on them at the first of the season, as we really took on some challenging teams. Ultimately I think it helped to start off with that schedule. I have never been down on Rittman and still think he is an excellent coach. His record here and other places pretty much backs that up. I am glad that many here think that the new hires are producing and I assume that is why they were brought here, but we have to give Rittman credit for getting them on board.
