Two things I "noticed" about the first games. Pitching was improved. Starters got in, threw strikes, had control of the zone. Second thing...no hr's. Several really long fly balls, but nothing to clear the park (from us). Lots of runners left on base. Hitting was mostly good, seemed we were on top of a lot of the pitches, until runners got to third. And no long balls.

No words can tell how exciting this is. Been a long time coming. Pitching has been the mvp of the first two games. It wouldn't bother me if high point beat coastal. Either way, hopefully they stress each others pitching staffs. We were on the verge of a crooked inning several times and didn't get the big hit.
Time to break out the big bats and the brooms.

Bakich said he was proud of the fans, but it’s not over. Not yet.
“Well, they are bringing it, but we're not done. And so, we need, we as coaches, players, and a team to finish the job, and the fans, let's do it, too,” Bakich said. “Let's put an exclamation mark on this. We're happy with the first two games but not satisfied and want the fans to feel the same way and be the loudest and the most energetic and the most level 10 they have been yet. And we will, too.”

I thought the crowd Friday night for such a huge crowd was flat for the most part and seemed uptight at least it appeared that way on TV (or maybe it was just the ACC network production) Last night was different.

Sorry but I am a newbie to baseball. What happens if we get out of regionals. Like what are the steps to the finals?

If we win the regional we will host the super regional since we are the #6 national seed.

The NCAA Tournament is a 4-stage medley of double-elimination brackets and best-of-3s...
1) The regionals are double-elimination brackets among 4 teams (in ours, that's Clemson, Vandy, CC, & High Point).
2) Our regional winner (hopefully Clemson) faces the Stillwater regional winner (OKST, Nebraska, UF, or Niagara) in a best-of-3 super-regional. The other 16 regional winners will also be paired up in best-of-3 matches.
3) The 8 super-regional winners go into two 4-team double-elimination brackets in the Men's College World Series (MCWS).
4) The 2 MCWS bracket-winners face off in a best-of-3.
A team could lose up to 4 tournament games (one at each stage) and still be the national champion. Since the NCAA went to the current format in 1999, only 1 team has won the MCWS with 4 tournament losses-- Fresno State in 2008, but there have been several years where the national champ lost 3 games-- and of course several with 1-2 losses. See pages 10-11... http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/baseball_cws_RB/2023/1-CWSGeneral.pdf
4-team double-elimination brackets look like this... https://baberuthleague.org/media/11186/4team.pdf
Clemson has never won a baseball natty, and Clemson is 2nd only to FSU in the number of appearances in the NCAA tourney without a championship (45 vs 59). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Division_I_baseball_tournament
