Or will conference realignment be accelerated now?

I think that Clemson stays put until at least 2030. However, with all the variables at hand its impossible to know what happens thereafter.

I think Fox and the B1G make the first move this time by taking FSU and Miami. ESPN and the SEC follow I just hope its Clemson and UNC and not UNC and UVA. It's going to be hard to separate UVA and VT though. We saw how the Virginia state politicians fought to get VT in the ACC.

The fact we get to keep the media rights money would allow us to make a move

whenever we want to, essentially.
The gap for the next few years with this new, negotiated ACC deal is not a huge issue so no need to rush.
I think 2030 (feels crazy typing that) would be the absolute longest we would stay in the ACC. But, will football still even have the same conferences by 2030? Who knows.

I think any moves made by any conferences will be a reaction to what MOVES the SEC/BIG MAKE. AND IT IS NOW ALL ABOUT MAXIMIZING MEDIA MONEY TO CONFERENCES.
We know the ACC is not proactive and is ESPN'S puppet . SO WHATEVER STRINGS ESPN PULLS IS WHAT THE ESPN puppet will do.
The SEC/BIG AND ESPN NOW CONTROL CFB. Those 2 conferences are going to maximize the media revenue and the CFP AND NCAA BASKETBALL revenue. The other conferences will get the table scraps or crumbs. Clemson and FSU do not control their destiny. They are at the mercy of ESPN, GREG SANKY AND THE BIG COMMISSIONER.
REALTY IS OFTEN TOUGH TO ACCEPT. JIM PHILLIPS IS NOT RESPECTED BY ANYONE AND HAS NO POWER TO CHANGE ANYTHING THAT IS GOING TO HELP THE ACC COMPETE WITH THE 2 ELEPHANTS IN THE ROOM.

Sankey in charge of the ACC right now he would fail miserably too. It's a losing hand, I don't care who's playing it. And, unlike poker, everyone knows the cards you're holding so there's not much point in trying to bluff.

yes, I could see us bailing in a few years if opportunity came. $18M annually for 2-3 years is nothing compared to security of a P2 invite.

I think we stay until the next media right negotiations for SEC and B1G. Then we need an invite, some of those discussions may start sooner than later. B1G is before SEC. How much does the B1G want to get a foothold in the south? Will they go after FSU and Miami or does Clemson stand a chance? By the way how far along is out accreditation application? Go tigers!

Before you answer you must tell where we are going to go. Until then, the answer is Clemson will remain in the ACC for 5 plus many more years.
