It's mainly Tigernet's fault. Trying to make a story out of nothing. Ryan McGee even made fun of Tigernet on the Campus Conversation podcast yesterday. Essentially how they try to take a few things out of context and make it into a story. I agreed.

DD said he wanted to finish us off. He's taking about finishing the game and not just playing close with us.
He said they wanted to hit and rattle TL in the same article so our friends on Tnet jumped to conclusions that DD is telling his players to "take him out"
It all stems back to the comment he made about knocking Gallman out of the game. Something like, at least we knocked out their running back.
Don't you guys think our coaches want our players to hit Finley? Let's not get any penalties, but if you get a chance you tattoo that guy.
Football is not a nice man's game. I hope we blast Finley and then make Tua T cut a flip and helicopter in the CFP. A little revenge for dw4

Yep I heard that too. He said the Tiger writers get to talk to the head of conference officials and they only ask about 3 calls they think went against Clemson the previous year and then run off and tweet the quote immediately. I wonder if that includes D Hood? This whole thing is an absolute nothing burger. Venables is probably laughing at the way the TNet writer framed that whole comment. TNet writer knows there are 6 or 7 fools on here that think contact shouldn’t be allowed in football. Tiger players know they plan on being extremely physical tomorrow and fully expect State to do the same. This should be similar to some of those Auburn games with hard hitting throughout until State says “uncle”.

Often times, it's not what you say, but how you say it and I think this is Dave's biggest problem. He's just mouthy and whiny.

It seems like the media is just sitting around waiting to get offended so they can act outraged and get the emotional validation they need from their millennial twitter followers.
It's football. Of course NCSU wants to hit our QB. We want to hit their QB too! As a hard and fast rule, we want to hit (very hard) anyone that has the football.
Still, Dorean is kind of a ######, so I still enjoyed seeing him squirm a bit.

Of course they were taken out of context. Imagine that. You want your guy to sack our guy. There's nothing wrong with this people. We don't have to go all "Them's fightin' words" on everything opposing coaches say.
I think that this battle will be won more easily than the last couple of meetings because of 2 things. DL and OL. We are going to maul them in the trenches this time, and it's going to show early and often.

Now internally one may be happy that that happened to Wayne Gallman but you can't be stupid to the point that you verbalize it as the freaking head coach....
Pretty sure he'll be happy to see Trevor or any key piece of the team get hurt at the hands of his defense "hitting" them.

Yes, he's a jerk, and yes, he talks too much, but I don't think his comments a couple of years ago about Gallman nor his comments this week about Lawrence were meant to be dirty. I don't think he teaches his team to try to injure players, and it's unfair to twist his words and read more into them than is there.

And then he bragged about it afterwards. I see implication of same type of hit to Trevor in his original statement. I will stick to my nickname for him "DIRTY DAVE"! At least, with this type of scrutiny, I hope he will not have a player target Trevor. And there are other ways to injure a player. I watched the Syracuse hit several times, the Cuse player used his shoulder against Trevor's helmet, simultaneously using his forearm against his neck. And Trevor's head jerked violently with the hit, but the forearm must have done the most damage.

Did you read the article?? I respect the courage, dedication and love it takes to deal with special needs children and adults. So remove that point of integrity from inspection and read the rest
He made a maintenance worker feel special-guess he said "Hey! I just wanted you to know you are special)
Paraphrased-"he made sure everyone rallied around her 9 yo with a broken ankle"(N.C. State assistant athletic director for communications Annabelle Myers--"it was Doeren who led the charge in making sure everyone in the football program rallied around her." ) Again- "seriously"? Everyone in the program rallied-what does that mean?
He married a "former nurse"--what does that even mean-beyond the obvious? I bet his wife likes the fact the she un-became a nurse. Working or not working, she's a nurse.
He wanted to be an Orthopedic Doc but a 7 on 7 game at a high school one summer changed all that?-Whatttttt????? They must've smoked some serious crap that summer night.
And then there's his old boots, pickup truck and country music-that's gotta tug at your heart strings!.
So-positives--He's very active in the special needs community and has a special needs child which takes a lot of love. The only relevant point about the man's character in the article.
Conclusion. NC State and SC have really poor journalism students. I was waiting for the splinter in the lion's paw (former lion) story.

Who cares about his intent? I trust no one on here really likes the guy, do they? He's an idiot. In light of all the recent injuries and the intent of officiating (got to call it something) to discourage unnecessary and dangerous hits, he says moronic stuff like that-what can you call him but an idiot. It is our job to see it gets over exaggerated to the max. If he's dumb enough to say what he did to the media, imagine the way he put that to his players behind close doors. Now he and his little fuzz balls are under a big magnifying glass. Making it as horrendous as possible probably saved some bad hits on our guys. Besides-since when do we defend an opposing coach?? That is unconscionable! If we are gonna have a love fest-why play? This is football--there is hitting and there's fans demeaning the other side if the opportunity presents itself. And if ANYBODY ever says anything good about Muschump-you better go into hiding. This is a viscous board!!

Well said Watcher. How many of you have played team sports? My experience is that a coach will be careful with his words in public and kick up the intensity when talking to his players in the locker room. If Dorein is saying this about his game plan against TL in public, what is he saying behind closed doors?

Make no mistake DD is a nasty sort, his actions post game the last year or so states just how he feels about the Tigers! He wants to beat us probably more than anybody else, as we have spoiled his chances the last few years no doubt! But this is the game of football, not synchronized swimming! He wants his defense to play physical, no less than Brent wants our guys to play with violence as he’s stated before in interviews, about individuals abilities!
