Emotional Ferrell shows what a team leader looks like
The Clemson locker room was filled with emotion following Monday night’s loss to Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, but you would have to look far and wide to find a better teammate and team leader than Clelin Ferrell. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to find a player that cares more. Full Story » |

While I wish they would all stay, I can’t blame them for leaving. You come to college to prepare for life and the money is there for the taking now. I’d tell my own son the same thing. Go Tigers

They only gave up 17 points and were given junk field position to defend consistently. They should hold their heads up high as far as doing their part.

Probably best to follow Cle's lead when he mentions all three phases, i.e. team, in his words.

I think they really only gave up 10 points, when you consider the Payne drive started at the Tiger 28!

Alabama scored a total of 3 points when starting on their own side of the field, and those 3 points came on a drive where they started at their own 47. Clemson defense played a great game.

The O-line was whipped. I didn’t watch Mitch Hyatt all night, but the 2 times I noticed him he was on his backside! I thought he might go early, but he didn’t help his draft stock.

Really shocking to see the Tiger Oline beaten that badly. KB never had much of a chance.

Our D fought valiantly. So proud of them. Who goes and who stays is an individual, personal decision. Selfishly, I want em all to stay, but it's not about me, it's about what they want. I support them either way.

It would be nice if they ALL would stay to finish the fight!!!!!!!!! Leave Clemson with a winning season, stay and finish the job guys! I wish they would think about going to the draft and how they left the team. One more year would help build their stats up and they would be pick in the first and second round or may not be picked at all, THINK about this long and hard guys, building your stats would not hurt you at this point! But, this is not my decision, it's just my two cents!

First round pick - doesn't need to build stats

for better pick and more money next year - needs to go forward and not risk career ending injury. I loved watching Spiller play his last year but was scared he would get hurt and lose millions. Never want that for a guy who worked so hard to make it.

First of all, let me go on the record books and say this, Pick yourself up, hold your head up, and most of all man up to how the team played! Of course the team play as expected and did not preform like they should. But Clemson needs to realize that there will be times when a team can do everything right, practice, prepare, and stay focus, BUT when things do not go as planed, maybe it is time to go back and evaluate what has happen. You see sometimes a team can practice and they don't win, things happen for a reason. I know the team is hurting, heck the fans are hurting as well!!! I see it as another opportunity to correct the wrong from last year and turn over a new and improve Clemson. These guys should NOT let THIS game bring them down, but next year, no team and I do mean No team should be able to hold them down! Things don't always go as planned, but this is where Clemson can make up for the two losses. Come back next year, be stronger and most of all be ready to tackle any team that they play. I love Clemson and this article really hurt me also. I know from the first play that Clemson was in trouble, but I kept hoping and praying that second half that they would wake up, but they did not. No team should never let any other team intimidate them where they just freeze. Clemson, please do not beat yourself up for this lost, but instead let's be the NEW ALABAMA!!!!!!!!! GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What your are saying basically is they played poorly. True. What's the cure for that? I really don't know. That's why I'm not making millions a year as a coach. They do need to figure it out.

Integrity. Ownership. Teammate not blaming one person or one group. True evaluation of what happened and manning up. What a stark contrast to the blame game from Alabama last year!

There are clear distinctions between these two programs. Repeatedly seeing stand-up men like Clelin Ferrell versus the comments coming from goons in the Bama locker room - it's just the tip of the iceberg. So many other things that can be cited as differences between the programs, but that's a whole other post.
For now, I'm proud to say I'm picking the good side. Good will win in the end.

And who sets the tone for the players? Nicky, Dabo and the other coaches. Two different cultures. Nicky cares about winning at all costs. Dabo wants to win the games, but is into something beyond football.

The small amount of time they had to rest between series. It’s the offense that was shut down and even then we still were driving and had 2 absolutely freak INTs. We are better than what we were Monday but the freak accidental plays count just as much as the planned executed plays.

the ineffectiveness of the offense, the defense played a great game. First and second team. Lights out! Lost the game on offense, and certainly did not get any help from special teams on field position. Field goal kicking was a plus though!

The mama in me just wants to hug these guys and tell them how very proud we are of them all. We are all disappointed that we fell short of the National Championship but these gentlemen gave us all their heart and soul. For this, I am grateful, as we all should be. The seniors will be missed and we should wish them well. Go Tigers! from a very proud fan

I hope he comes back for his degree and the drive to beat Bama one more time. If he chooses to leave before he gets his degree he can come back to Clemson at anytime in the future and finish his scholarship to get that degree. I wish this young man nothing but the best. I hope all of our guys making these hard decisions have their dreams come true
