Travis Etienne ate too much over Spring Break

Clemson standout running Travis Etienne is one of the more elusive playmakers in the country with his blend of speed and power.

During last week's spring break trip back to his hometown in Louisiana, Etienne quickly gained eight pounds to 218 as he might have found his kryptonite with the hometown cooking.

"The question is what I didn't eat," Etienne said to TigerNet. "I ate a lot of Popeyes (fast food chicken), I went to Darrell's (restaurant), my mom cooked every day and a lot of rice and gravy. My grandma made a couple of dishes for me. A lot of snacks. It was bad."

Etienne said his current weight is the heaviest ever but will slim back down quick. He said his ideal playing weight is around 212 or 213 pounds.

It's good to know that even elite athletes have a craving for snacks because I always do.
