One school, who has quietly done well in recruiting, is North Carolina. John Bunting appeared to be on his way out in Chapel Hill, but he put together a solid class in 2006, and he is off to a good start in 2007.
A player that North Carolina leads with is Tydreke Powell. Powell has over 25 offers, including offers from virtually every ACC and SEC school. Powell says he is still evaluating each school. "North Carolina is right there for me. I have always been a North Carolina fan, but I am going to look around. Each school has a lot to offer me. Coach Bunting is turning things around at North Carolina, but there are several big programs, who want me to come and play." Clemson is one school, who would love to land Powell. Powell can be a dominate interior lineman at the next level. "Clemson is a good school. Coach Rumph sends me some mail. They are still on my list." Powell listed Florida and Auburn in his lead group with North Carolina.
