A unanimous Top 100-rated defender announced a commitment to Clemson on Saturday.
2025 Greensboro, North Carolina defensive lineman Bryce Davis reported the news, picking the Tigers out of a finalist group with Georgia, Duke and South Carolina. He is rated as high as the No. 51 prospect overall and the No. 3 strongside defensive end (Rivals). The commitment boosts Clemson's team rankings for the 247Sports Composite seven spots to No. 9 overall, with a 14-man class now. Georgia was a predicted favorite until this month, as those projections shifted to Clemson. There were a few predictions to Duke on Saturday morning as well. "Definitely just the family atmosphere there. Coach Swinney, he does things different. It just feels right and the people, they treat you like you're a part of the family there." @grimsleyfb DE @BryceDavis45 on committing to play at @ClemsonFB . @WFMY @WFMYhss pic.twitter.com/68UnA91zRA He was on hand for an official visit to Clemson to start June. Davis was told that his potential entrance to the roster came with perfect timing. “They told me I couldn’t come at a more perfect time,” Davis said after the visit. “With TJ (Parker) being a junior, and Peter (Woods) flipping from defensive tackle to defensive end, if me and Ari (Watford, committed DE) came in, that’s a perfect opportunity for us to be on the field early, get developed and really see what we can do as a freshman. That definitely piqued my interest.” He also developed a strong relationship with Clemson’s coaches. “My relationship with the coaches is great,” Davis said. “They’ve got Coach Bowers. They’ve got Coach Rumph. It’s a bunch of people that have a lot of NFL experience. The way they use their defense, they play a 4-3, and Coach (Wes) Goodwin does a really job with letting the edges go out there and play. Rush the passer. Really versatile with what we can do over there. It’s really a good way to lead to the NFL and really get developed."
