Ex-NFL star has wild take that Clemson has too many white guys on offense |
Everyone seems to have a take on why the Clemson offense sputtered against a talented No. 1 Georgia squad in the 34-3 loss on Saturday.
Some fans and media pundits believe that the quarterback play is not good enough. At the same time, some say Clemson doesn't have the playmakers at the wide receiver position like it used to during its National Championship wins. Others believe that Clemson's playbook is not stretching the field and doing too many predictable short passes. Many believe that Clemson needs an influx of offensive talent through the transfer portal. However, ex-NFL star Roddy White has a much bolder take: The offense sputtered against Georgia because there were too many white players. "Clemson got way too many white dudes on the field on offense. This ain’t them. U mean to tell me u only got one black dude out there making plays. That’s a recruiting problem," White posted on X. White received a lot of backlash for his comments online after they went viral, and he apologized on Sunday night. "I am getting a lot of blowback for the too many white players comment I apologize if someone thought I was being racist which everybody around me knows I’m not," White posted. " I looked out there and 10 of the 11 players were white I can’t recall ever seeing a Clemson team like that."
