I lived in the pre-fabs (down near where Kingsmore Stadium is now) as a baby while Dad completed his degree in Civil Engineering after serving with the 101st in WW2. Mom (a Converse College graduate) taught school, meanwhile, and had Frank Howard's son, Jimmy, as one of her students (always a topic for conversation when we paid our respects to Coach Howard in later years). My Clemson experience includes watching Lowndes Shingler and Harvey White play, running under the rug during the middle of a game when a huge hailstorm hit, the joy of being a cheerleader (if only the Freshman Tiger), and being robbed of exacting my revenge as Sophomore Class president (and therefore, Chairman of Rat Court) on the incoming freshmen in the Fall of 1969, when head shaving and the playing of "Dixie" was first prohibited. I've lost all contact with the SigEp boys, but have enjoyed watching our 6 children grow (one graduated from Clemson, another is a senior, with hopes of entering MUSC Dental School. My wife, Jane, is from Greenville, and is a former Miss Georgia USA, said only because she is even more stunning now. Business sometimes takes me to Mac's, where I get some very opionated "poop" on the goings on within the Clemson Family.
