Five-star Bellflower, California quarterback and top Clemson target
DJ Uiagalelei will make his commitment soon.
The nation's No. 1 QB said on Twitter Wednesday that he will make his announcement on May 5. Uiagalelei and his family made a five-day visit to Clemson's campus for the spring game, after a pair of visits for Dabo Swinney’s summer camp and the Clemson-South Carolina game last year. Most recently, Uiagalelei made his final recruiting visit to another top contender for his pledge in Oregon for their spring game. He told TigerNet after the trip that he was ready to weigh his options and make a commitment. “We just want to go and sit back and weigh it out and see what we want to do,” he said. “We want to think about it and see what the options are and weigh out the pros and cons with each school and all of the different schools. And then, eventually, I will make a decision.” Uiagalelei was named a first-team All-American by Maxpreps and California Gatorade player of the year as a junior. He tossed 48 touchdown passes (to seven interceptions) with 3,366 passing yards and a 69.6 completion rate last year. He also rushed for 312 yards and six scores. As a sophomore, Uiagalelei posted 29 touchdowns to two interceptions. A commitment from Uiagalelei would send the Tigers back to the No. 1 spot currently in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings, where they currently sit in third behind LSU and Alabama. My mind is made up and the date is set, I am now ready to Commit. . .??#SCODUCKS??#ALLIN??#SACDAWGS@DustinLaemmlen pic.twitter.com/KKB378NigE I’m bringing him with me?? https://t.co/anLq3KUnTz You know what to do ! ?? #ALLIN https://t.co/os5ksNNvZK
