Clemson signee has asked for his release |
Clemson baseball signee Cal Raleigh has asked for a
release from Clemson University this week.
Former Clemson coach Jack Leggett was a friend of Raleigh's family and especially close to his father who was a former coach at Western Carolina. “We’ve asked for a release, we’re just waiting to hear back on that,” Raleigh today USA Today. "I’ve really had two big dreams my whole life when it comes to baseball. To play pro and to go to Ohama (Neb.) for the College World Series." Raleigh and his family have been very blunt with MLB scouts considering drafting him. "We told the scouts and teams what our expectations were (for a signing bonus) and not to waste a pick if they couldn’t meet it. The big thing is I wanted to be honest with everyone. Now we’re back to putting together the process and finding the right college." Raleigh batted .459 with 10 home runs, 23 RBIs, 20 stolen bases for the WNCAC champions.
