Two Tigers make USA TODAY Freshman All-America

Trevor Lawrence added to an accolade-heavy rookie campaign with the nod as USA TODAY's freshman All-American QB, joining defensive end Xavier Thomas in a tie for the most school reps on the national squad.

Lawrence was named the ACC Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus with 24 touchdown passes to four interceptions and 2,606 passing yards in 13 games (nine starts). Lawrence made freshman All-American lists for ESPN, The Athletic and 247Sports as well and was tabbed as the AP ACC Newcomer of the Year and picked up Rookie of the Year honors from the conference too.

The Cartersville, Georgia product made the Davey O'Brien Award semifinalist group also. He holds the Clemson records for a freshman in passing yards and passing touchdowns, which were both previously held Kyle Parker in 2009.

Thomas, a Florence native, also made the freshman All-American lists for ESPN, The Athletic and 247Sports and has posted 38 tackles (9.5 for loss) with three sacks and two pass breakups.
