Report: College GameDay coming to Clemson-Texas A&M game |
Clemson's week two trip to College Station is set to have a little more buzz to it.
The Athletic is reporting that ESPN's College GameDay will feature the ACC-SEC battle between Clemson and Texas A&M. It would be consecutive weeks on a college campus for the longtime college football preview show - after a trip to South Bend, Indiana for Notre Dame-Michigan this week. The show runs from 9 a.m. to noon on ESPN each Saturday. Clemson's last two on-campus appearances were road games last season at Virginia Tech, a 31-17 win, and Louisville, a 47-21 win. The show's last time in Clemson was for the 2016 Clemson-Louisville game, a 42-36 Tigers' win. The Aggies last hosted GameDay in 2016 in a top-10 battle with Tennessee, where they won 45-38 in double overtime. This would be the sixth time Texas A&M has hosted the show (1-4 record). Texas A&M won its home opener versus FCS-level Northwestern State on Thursday, 59-7. The No. 2 Tigers open their season at 12:20 p.m. hosting FCS-level Furman (ACC Network). The Tigers-Aggies matchup will be a 7 p.m. Eastern kickoff and televised on ESPN. Sources tell The Athletic that @CollegeGameDay will head to College Station next Saturday (Sept. 8) for Clemson at Texas A&M.
