Renfrow apologized to Alabama DB for trash-talking |
Clemson won their first National Championship since 1981 and one of the main reasons was
Hunter Renfrow and his memorable touchdown catch with a second left to give the Tigers a 35-31 victory.
In a recent interview with theathletic.com, Renfrow shared that he was getting trash-talked by Alabama defensive back Tony Brown the entire game. Renfrow finally had enough of it. "How about you GUARD ME then," Renfrow said to Brown after his sixth catch of the night. However, Renfrow being Renfrow didn't feel right about what he had said. "And then I immediately felt bad,” Renfrow said. "And it took me like three plays to get up the courage to say: OK, I’m sorry. I should not have said that. Because if we were going to win, I wanted to win the right way and not be a jerk about it, you know?” Renfrow was a monster during the game with a career-high 10 catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns against the Crimson Tide.
