Deshaun Watson makes top-10 list for 'best-mannered' people |
Deshaun Watson accomplished plenty in 2017.
Just a few days into the year, he helped clinch Clemson's second national title. Not long after he earned the Manning Award as the nation's top-rated QB for a second-straight season. In April, he was selected in the first round of the NFL draft, and in October, he notched AFC Offensive Player of the Month after a run that put him atop the league in passing touchdowns before an injury. How he handled himself in that run of success is what caught the eye of one particular organization. A National League of Junior Cotillions vote tabbed Watson for No. 3 in a top-10 list vote of the "best-mannered" celebrities of 2017. The people nominated hold a "commitment to honor, dignity, and mannerly conduct." In late September after the destruction of Hurricane Harvey, Watson donated his first game paycheck to a group of cafeteria workers at the Texans' stadium. In October, he partnered with Habitat for Humanity and a furniture company to refurnish 176 homes in the Houston area. Watson is currently rehabbing a knee injury, which Texans coach Bill O'Brien said was "ahead of schedule" on Tuesday. Teammate J.J. Watt, who is working his way back from a leg fracture, posted an insight to their respective comebacks via social media: somethin special brewin...@deshaunwatson pic.twitter.com/kdTtvJ7A5t PGA golfer Rickie Fowler earned the most first-place votes and three-time Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman finished second. 11 years ago, @habitat_org + Warrick Dunn worked together to give @DeshaunWatson's family a new home.
