Clemson leads ACC in NCAA NET ranking

by -

Clemson leads ACC basketball in the NCAA's NET ranking tool that's used to measure teams for the NCAA Tournament.

The 8-1 Tigers (2-1 ACC) rank 15th after Sunday's action, which is 10 spots ahead of the nearest league team (Syracuse).

No. 1-ranked and 10-0 Gonzaga paces the metric, followed by Baylor (9-0), Tennessee (7-1), Illinois (8-3) and Villanova (8-1).

In a season impacted by the pandemic, the Tigers have been fortunate to have only one game postponed so far, allowing for a 2-1 mark against top teams in the formula and 3-0 against the second tier. On the lean end of a slate at this point is Wake Forest, which has played only four games, and Duke has played just five contests.

The Tigers return to action hosting NC State (6-1, 2-0 ACC) on Tuesday (7 p.m./ACC Network).
