Clemson jumps Oklahoma for top spot in AP Poll

Clemson moved up three spots in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

The Tigers not only jumped upset victims Alabama and Miami, but they also moved over Oklahoma with 27 first-place votes and 1,478 points to the Sooners' 24 first-place votes and 1,461 points. Wisconsin also garnered first-place votes (10), at No. 3, followed by Auburn and Alabama.

Clemson notched a fourth win over a team ranked in any poll with a 34-10 victory at South Carolina Saturday. Meanwhile, Oklahoma rolled West Virginia at home, 59-31, and Wisconsin moved to 12-0 with a 31-0 win at Minnesota.

The Playoff ranking comes next, on Tuesday, which has favored Clemson over Oklahoma up to this point.

Per ESPN, Clemson holds the No. 1 strength of record, with the top strength of schedule among Playoff contenders (9). Oklahoma is right behind them at No. 2 in strength of record, with the No. 34 strength of schedule.

Clemson moved to No. 1 in the Coaches Poll as well Sunday.

The Tigers tied a school record with a 50th-straight AP ranking, joining the 2011-14 and 1989-92 teams.
