Because of NIL, I don't get excited about visitors anymore. College football recruiting had been destroyed by the NCAA and lawyers. Sad to say.

I feel the very same way, and it's all bc none of us know their family financial situation is, or how much a nice NIL package would help their family as whole. With that said we can only hope that their financial situation isn't dire bc if it isn't Clemson will sell itself, but if their situation is dire and with the way that Dabo is about not sharing NIL money with new recruits coming in, and that means that our FB program doesn't stand a chase of bringing in recruits that needs a share of the NIL funds, and they don't want to hear that it will come after you show us what you can do.

That part about once you show us what you can do will turn away most any recruit needing NIL bc they know that another program will give them a share from day one after signing day...

Great, glad he thinks Clemson is different with loyal fans. I understand the feeling about NIL, but this is a great step towards being in contention for him. Would love to sign him.

I don't know why they even bother to write these stories any more. How many guys have said nice things about us and then gone elsewhere? Most of them honestly. We offer 80 guys, 80 guys say nice things about us and then 65 of them go elsewhere. What's the point of a story about someone who probably isn't coming here saying nice things about us again? Now if he's committing at the same time then I agree its newsworthy but most of these stories we see involve zero commitment.

That has always been the case in recruiting, it is just tougher now due to NIL. Makes it harder to read what a recruit will do, but recruiting has always been hard and we have always lost some we thought we had. I still enjoy following recruiting though it is definitely different than it was 20 years ago.
