Basketball- you've lost your last 2 games to Clemson and your coach wins just enough in the post season to hold on to his job, even though most coots want him gone anyway
Baseball - you lost 3 out of 4 to Clemson this year. While your arch rival is on a 13 game winning streak, clinched at least a share of the ACC title, and virtually locked up a Super Regional host site in the NCAA tournament - Your team, after being ranked as high as # 1 in the country, has gone into a tailspin. They have played themselves out of all but one of the polls, backed into their own conference tournament, and have lost all hope at all of hosting a regional in the NCAA tournament.
Football - this almost does not even need to be said, but I'll say it anyway. You've lost 4 in a row to Clemson and 8 out 9. Your newest Hall of Fame coach managed a whopping 1 more victory in '05 than your last Hall of Fame coach in '04. You have once again put all your hopes in a COACH - who's name is bigger than your school itself. The great QB coach that is SOS could not even lock up the best QB in the state this year in Willy Korn. You hang all your hopes on the PAST accomplishments of your new coach - just like you did your last new coach. 95% of your football fans are delusional to the point of being institutionalized - oh and by the way, your athletic department is BROKE.

One thing I don't understand is why would most gamecock fans want Odom gone? I understand the dubious nature of being the answer to a trivia question (back-to-back NIT championships) but they weren't much before he got their either. He's (evidently) run a clean program and they've ahad a modicum of success. They've shown improvement in team quality (though not in outcome of the season) in much the same way OP has shown improvement in ours.
I guess I just don't understand us making fun of them for keeping Odom when he has a winning record against us, and hasn't shown much less success than a OP (a coach we love).
