For the Short Bus Riders/Dabo Haters..........

|

From someone who has coached in college athletics before, listen to me please.
Leadership ability is the #1 characteristic in all successful head coaches. Pick any coach, any sport, and the successful ones are all great leaders. All coaches have knowledge of their sport. That's basic. All college coaches have recruited at some level and all have performed tasks necessary in the daily operations of running a program. The successful head coaches are leaders first and people follow leaders.
Dabo Swinney is a solid candidate for the position of head coach at Clemson because he possesses strong leadership abilities to lead a program and has shown in a month that he is capable of directing a college football team on Saturday. The coaches are following his lead and the players (the ones who are really important in this program) are following him and have his back.
Who better to have a pulse on who the next head coach at Clemson be than the players themselves. The administration obviously has confidence in Dabo, or they wouldn't have made the change on October 13.
The opinion of this board is really not relevant in the scope of the Clemson football program.
Jeff Davis (The Judge), perhaps the best player in the history of the Clemson football program, has thrown his support behind Dabo Swinney 110%.
If Dabo Swinney is getting the support of Jeff Davis, former coaches (Danny Ford), former players, and the current Clemson football team, then why do you people think that your opinion matters more?
How about just supporting the program for what it is, and not what you think it should be. I assure you that the administration has a better idea for direction than we do.

The leadership this guy has shown under very, very difficult circumstances has really been impressive. The players obviously want to lay it on the line for him. What more can you ask for ? I figured Dabo would be likeable ( I have always heard good things about him ) and that he would know something about football, but his leadership and people skills have surprised me .

their team is, to who its head coach is, to how high their recruiting class is, to what conference they paly in. They would rather say for expample, " Well, we've Got Spurrier " than," We beat ya'll last year ".
If Muschamp, Leach, RR, Foster, or Lord help us Kiffin had taken over under the circumstance that Dabo did, and done the exact same things Dabo has done, then their followers on here would be going delerious.

What has Dabo really done?Granted,he has got this team motivated to play but his play calling skills are awful.CJ Spiller won two games for Dabo with his skills.

Are you kidding about the play calling? How has the play calling been bad? Remember he took over half way through the season, Napier and Dabo have yet to install their complete offense.

I have been thinking the same thing. It's like if we hire Leach or Kiffen that somehow they will feel better about themselves. They would rather have a coach that the media and other team's fans recognize, than have coach that will actually get the job done, no matter what name value or splash he would make. I just want one that will win.

this is exactly why Dabo should be named head coach. If you have studied leadership, you would recognize that Dabo has made every right move from a leadership perspective.
Throw in the fact of great playcalling, tremendous people and recruiting skills, casting the vision of greatness for the players and fans, and simply truly loving Clemson, we need to realize he is the right choice. Even the administration is on board with Dabo!

Let me raise one more point.Go ahead and hire Dabo but only to a two year contract. If he fails to produce an Atlantic Division title in that time, get rid of him.

Are you so hellbent on his failure as to only offer him a two year contract and kill any chance he has of recruiting. That might be best for YOU in your own personal interest but that is not what is best for Clemson. If he gets the job then you have to make a commitment to him just like you would for anyone else.

who are under the delusion that Dabo is the best choice to replace Bowden when compared to all of the other potential candidates when, in reality, you have absolutely nothing to support that contention.
If you really believe that Dado is a better choice than coaches like Leach, Patterson or Kelly then we can all rejoice in the knowledge that you are not Clemson's Athletic Director and that you have have absolutely zero involvement in the decision making process in any way, shape, or form.

You're dumber than an old, rotten stump, but unfortunately (for you) you're too dumb to see it. And you grade school, stolen insults only exacerbate the issue.

It's a chance for them to relive the "glory days"....
It's another "Danny Ford" story in the making.
As far as the players go... the only verbal ones backing Dabo (publicly) seem to be the ones leaving us either this year or the next.
Not a convincing post.
