One can get the best out of his players, the other can't. Apples to oranges.

When players make mistakes is it the coaches fault?

So when a player doesn't block-out like he's been coached..
Jan 29, 2007, 9:23 PM
|
|
It's not the coaches fault? When a player misses a free throw, it's not the coaches fault? What about when an offensive lineman misses a block that could have got us a first down or a TD, that's not the coaches fault either? What about if a QB overthrows a receiver standing 5 yards away? When players make the same mistakes again and again, is it the coaches fault? .....These don't all have to be the same answer. But essentially you;re saying the reasons we lost to UVA and Maryland in basketball had nothing to do with coaching, but losing to Maryland and USuC in football had everything to do with coaching? Hmmmm....

very good at what they do. I would be surprised if LineBackerU can respond to your reply as to why he'll give OP a pass but not TB....I'll be interested to see what he says.

for 8 years, only to have a mediocre program, continuously find himself on the hot seat and make asinine excuses after every loss. Does that answer your question?

Oh great, more BS from a former Coot baseball player...

just what we need. And why is coach Bowden always on the "hot seat"? Why can't Clemson fans leave the man alone and let him do his job? Do you think your tired drivel is actually accomplishing anything positive? Do you think you're helping the matter by repeating the same BS over and over? Go find people on a Coastal Carolina board to harass, or are they also tired of you?

I have always thought of it like this:
OP has killer instinct, TB does not. OP will go for the jugular when the game is in doubt. Conversely, for the past 2 years, TB coached teams have completely choked in close games ('05 = Miami, BC, Wake, Ga. Tech, '06 = BC, Maryland, USC to name a few). The Virginia game is the first time I have seen an OP team simply choke one away, but it is not every day the opposition just runs the court and rains NBA-like 3s on you in the last couple minutes. I can see Clemson basketball finally as an ACC contender under OP in the next couple years. Unless TB changes his attitude and gets hungry for wins, I see our football team being "close" for years to come.

It was the FIRST time an OP team did NOT have that mentality.

time, in my opinion.
UHHHHHHHH - - it was ONE day ago OP showed a COMPLETE lack of "go for the jugular" mentality that cost us the game.
One day ago - - Sunday - - comes right after Saturday . . . . . .

We're Clemson Basketball. Lately (and before this year) how many jugulars were we ever really exposed to.
