As a Clemson student and fan, it is tough to watch these

Apr 4, 2009, 11:38 PM

other programs and their fans celebrate these accomplishments. I am happy to be a part of the Clemson family, but it would be nice to have some tangeable achievement to be excited about from time to time.

advice from an old man..

My friend, the tangible achievements you should concern yourself with are your education, your job, your friends, your family and any special someone you decide to commit yourself to. Sports are a pass time and folly. If you put your happiness in the success of others you are doomed to an unfulfilling life..

Clemson is a unique and special place, not because of championships or banners, but because of the traditions and honor of the place and the people who went there. I am proud of Clemson and would not trade my years there for an Ivy League degree (not that they would have let me in). What I gained from my years at Clemson is not and cannot be tangible, but this is what makes me unusual in the executive offices and board rooms that I work in.

I know how you feel, I once was you.. with all the scars to show from my lack of wisdom over the years I've just come to realize what really matters..

And, that is especially remarkable that you were able to accomplish so much in spite of the education that you received from our Alma Mater, at a time when it was NOT the pin up centerfold US News & World Report. Before Jim (our savior from academic depravity) came riding in with his sturdy band of super well heeled Administrators to lead us from bottom dwelling existance. Yep, it is a glorious time at Clemson, we have been saved from our blissful ignorance and until Jim, Dori and Cathy Sams told us, we didn't even know we needed it.

Wow, that was a painfully stupid response.***

119 div 1 football programs.... Lord knows how many

Apr 5, 2009, 10:49 AM

basketball programs ..... chances are in most years you will be disappointed.

I do agree, we are way past due for a ACC title in one of the big 3 sports.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Or instead of watching you could go out and do something.

Apr 5, 2009, 2:20 PM

That way other people would be celebrating your accomplishments.
