I don't come here much anymore but this is worth posting.

PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU POST!

Players, their families and future recruits read this board. To many people, this is the only insight they have into Clemson and the Clemson Family.

I know, I know...this is America and everyone has a right to express their opinion but please stop and think before you start ranting and raving. Players, their families and CLEMSON RECRUITS read this board. Is it worth doing damage to our future just so you can ##### and moan about something? If you want to call out someone, do it in TAC or at least pony up and do it on the donor board.

That is all.

Why would this post merit anyone to give it thumbs down?

Sep 21, 2004, 1:03 PM

Sometimes this place totally baffles me. Someone actually disagrees with this? Seriously, if you do you AT LEAST ought to have the b@lls to come out and show yourself...guess we shouldn't hold our breath.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is cool...

Sep 21, 2004, 1:56 PM

Like I said...thumb it down, don't show yourself and remain gutless....THAT IS WHAT I FIGURED.

message boards do not affect recruits...

Sep 21, 2004, 1:34 PM

if so, Ron Zook wouldn't keep landing top classes with the bad publicity of fireronzook.com and the way that the Gatror boards take him apart after the loss. Also, the FSU boards are very vicious to the players and staff right now. I bet they sign a great class as always. Notre Dame boards spend most of the time talking about their "next coach" but they will still get some very good recruits.

If a recruit is ggeky enough to spend his time reading internet postings rather than studying or lifting weights, you have to wonder what kind of player he would be.

This board is not different that any other fan board and is truly alot milder than most.

Bull. They might not be the final decision maker but you

Sep 21, 2004, 1:40 PM

are crazy if you think recruits don't read these things. Just about every coach ever interviewed says the same thing: Every year they spend a larger portion of their time refuting and diffusing things recruits read on message boards.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

to be fair I have never seen...

Sep 21, 2004, 2:21 PM

a recruit say that I picked such and such team beacuse their fans accept and fully support the players and coaches under all circumstances and don't really care if they lose. How would you explain Zook or Fulmer or FUS or ND examples that I provided?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

As I said, certainly message boards are not the deciding

Sep 21, 2004, 2:26 PM

factor but I can guarantee you recruits read them and it can play A factor in their decision. The schools you reference: Florida, FSU and Notre Dame are national powers with incredible reputations. Players salivate at the chance to play for them and would be more willing to get over something like "FireRonZook.com" or whatever it is.

If recruits don't read these boards and it doesn't have an impact on them, why do so many coaches talking about having to spend time refuting things said on them to recruits?

People are ignorant if they are swayed by what a bunch of

internet geeks(myself included) have to say. Internet boards are mainly used for venting and gossip and most intelligent people should be able to understand that.
