is currently enroute to Lexington Medical Center with our oldest son, who has literally spent the last 24 hours throwing up. Every 10 to 15 minutes. He had a "light down the stomach" test this week which showed severe gastritis, and some stomach polyps, one of which they biopsied. He has gotten so dehydrated he has started falling down when he tries to stand up. I pray that the hospital will admit him, at least long enough to get some IV fluids back into him, and calm down whatever is causing this almost continuous vomiting reflex at this point in time. I administered a home COVID test, he does not have COVID. (He had it previously a couple months back, and the test caught it, so I believe the test.)
He has had some form of stomach problems for most of his life, and this has been a huge part of why he is 30 years old and has never held a job. Please pray that the doctors can get him through whatever this most recent acute attack is. Thanks in advance, and Go, Tigers.
I would be waiting there with them, if I had not already committed myself to teaching our Sunday School Class this morning. I will be asking our Church family for some specific prayers for my son as well.

Prayers for you and your family my brother. My nephew has/had similar symptoms and issues about a year ago, they figured out is was Crohn’s disease. Hope everyone is ok.

Will be praying for your son. Went through a lot of unexplained health issues with my daughter and the realization that it was out of my control scared me at first. Being a believer I soon realized that the Good Lord had this and even though things may have not have turned out like I may have wanted I felt confident in His plan. She is now 18 and is doing fine but it was a battle for many years. Im not currently where I feel I should be concerning my relationship with Him but the whole ordeal strengthened my faith.

My wife has Crohn’s disease so we have experienced a good bit of what you describe. Prayers for recovery and then finding something they can do to relieve his suffering.

I would imagine given what you’re telling us they will give him fluids. If they’re not ask them to and I would bet they will. I will pray because that’s all I can do for you. Hopefully this is “just a stomach bug” this time. Norovirus has been pretty rough across the country lately. But that still doesn’t help his chronic problems. I’m sure you’ve been to gi as you mentioned the EGD. Anyways, will pray for y’all.

Sorry to hear that your son is having these health issues, 76er. It does sound a lot like Crohn's, but I pray that the doctors diagnose this quickly and get this young man hydrated and healed. God bless.

I won't pretend to be a doctor but those symptoms sound very similar to the ones I had almost 2 years ago. Mine wound up being a bacterial infection and I spent 5 days in the hospital on IV multi-spectrum antibiotics. They tested for all the viruses and never were able to isolate mine but the antibiotics they used did the trick.
I am praying for your son and your family that the doctors will find the cause and put a good plan together for the cure and for a complete recovery.

My ex wife had gotten really sick and stayed in the hospital for 7 days. Ended up being Salmonella poisoning. Fortunately they had went ahead and gave her the most aggressive antibiotics from the start even though they did not know what they were dealing with.

They did the same for me. I was very lucky. By the time I got to the ER, my BP was 50/41 and my kidney function was down to 25%. Unfortunately, the infection starts to shut down your vital organs so if they don't get you in time and treat you aggressively, it can become dire very quickly.
I almost waited too long so for anyone who has these symptoms, don't do that. It is easy to think it is just the stomach flu but if you become very dehydrated and start losing your balance when you get up, get to the ER as quickly as you can.

Prayer sent. It reminds me of the symptoms my grandson had when he was diagnosed with crohns disese as a teenager. They got him treated, dialed in his medication and diet and he's doing great now.

gastric doc. They are running tests right now. Just got off the phone with my wife, they are about to do a CT Scan on him. Blood drawa have already been done for several more blood tests. I think this persistent nausea has the doctors stumped at this point in time. I hope they admit him at least overnight, he got sent home yesterday evening, and started with the nausea again first thing this morning, and got dehydrated all over again.
I get that hospitals will make every effort not to admit patients these days, due to insurance or whatever, but there comes a time when the patient's well being should override such things. He needs to be monitored so that whatever this is can be nailed down and treated properly.
