Nervous doesn't begin to describe it

Oct 21, 2015, 3:25 AM

And no I am not talking about Miami. We head to the hospital in a couple of hours to welcome our second child into this world. I was nervous the first time, but this time it's not going to be a "tough as nails" little boy. Lord help me (and buy me a shotgun) it is going to be a little girl. Our son was born the morning of the NC State game in 2013 and he got to "watch" a Tiger victory before he was even 1 whole day old. Little Miss is going to have to wait a few days but hopefully she gets to "watch" a Tiger victory on Saturday.

I just have one, but we never pushed her into

Oct 21, 2015, 7:20 AM

dolls and all pink stuff. She played on the monkey bars and got dirty. Now she's 13, strong, camps and hikes with me (did half dome in Yosemite with me at 9 yo), and is the best Tiger buddy a fella could hope for.

Enjoy her every day.. thats living :)

Congrats friend!!

I'll never forget when the Doctor handed my our 2nd

Oct 21, 2015, 7:46 AM

I had invested very little emotion the whole time my wife was pregnant. "Oh, we've got this, piece of cake, we already know what we're doing, etc" we'll then the doctor handed him to me. It was like the weight of the world came on my shoulders! "What in the world are we gonna do with 2? We're already not getting any sleep!" Well, my #2 turned out to be my little Clemson historian, he is like a mini Tim Borret. He soaks up Clemson FB! He always has questions about the old days and loves hearing stories about great games in Clemson's past.

My daughter was born this past new years eve. The only thing that calmed her down was me singing the Clemson fight song to her.

We refused to know the babies' gender before birth. My first two children were female. Going into the third was a sweet nightmare waiting to happen.

Man to man defense

Oct 21, 2015, 8:45 AM

Had 3 boys so I have no advice for a daughter. With 2 you can still play a man to man defense. If you have a 3rd you will have to switch to a 2 deep zone. My 4 year old granddaughter scored her first touchdown the other day in flag football. She is reported to have used her Rainbow Dash move. Before she turned one she would fist bump you if you said "Go Tigers". Girl are truly different and don't think you will ever figure them out. Congrats. Have fun with your family.

My son had "tiger paw" and "boo ocks" before he hit two. With his help maybe we can have her saying both by 18 months. By the way, she's here. 5 lbs 11 oz. A little smaller than her brother was, but I am fairly sure she's A LOT louder than he was too.

You will figure it out

Oct 21, 2015, 8:57 AM

When I found out I was going to have a girl I was like "what? Must be a mistake. I don't know anything about girls. What about baseball and football and racing"

My girls are 19 and 21 now. I wouldn't have it any other way. Boys could care less about hanging with Dad after a certain age. Girls are there forever (except for the crazy years, but they go away)

She is also the most wonderful person to enter our lives. What a joy to watch her grow into a beautiful young adult.

Congrats! Relax and enjoy the ride
