Hasn't told him Sammy's punishment yet. Awful article this morning questioning Dabo's leadership, saying he needs to grow up, and that by not announcing it he is hurting Sammy, the team, and takes it as far as hurting future recruits.
Bart I know you read this board. You are a d@mn idiot. There is nothing to suspend him from right now. How do you suspend him from Summer works that aren't mandatory? Dabo would be an idiot to announce anything now. But I know you don't have much to write about this time of yr so why not dig for a story bashing Dabo b/c he hasn't given you what you want.

and continues to work to minimize Dabo in his columns. At the Kickoff he asked Dabo 3 times about how the delayed discipline on Sammy is effecting other recruits parents. He works hard to find an angle to take a shot at Dabo. I know Bart likes to talk about covering the Pros in his past and now he is struggling to stay relevant, so I believe he tries to make headlines by trashing a very successful Dabo, the person Bart truly wishes he could have turned out to be. Go Tigers!

Not really looking to disagree, just do not understand how that would work. There is an action (or in this case an in-action) and and sports editorial writer wrote about it.
Sure he criticizes Dabo, just not sure how that is irresponsible whether you agree or disagree with his take on the situation...Especially most irresponsible articles ever written....
I would lean toward some of the NY Times articles that actually put people in harms way or got others killed.

Wright's column, do I hear a child crying? Why should Dabo tell anyone what his plans are for Sammy except Sammy? Why not keep it "in house" and handle it that way? My parents didn't tell the neighbors if I was in the doghouse or not. It makes sense to me, but Bart is all up in a wad because he hasn't been told. He doesn't need or deserve to know. Cry baby.

i am pretty #### sure that Dabo, Watkins and Sammy's dad have all had conversations about what the punishment will be at worst and what it will be at best. Dabo has made it clear to the fanbase and most of the media that Sammy had a "list" of things he must do over the summer. Dabo's exact words are that "Sammy has gone above and beyond what we have asked"
Dabo has repeatedly said that a decision will be made during fall camp.
Bart, you are an idiot. Listen to the coach before you write crap questioning this man's leadership to these kids.

Who is this guy?!! I don't agree with him at all. Dabo has done nothing but lead since he became head coach. I believe that it takes a lot of maturity on his part to not make a rash decision when situations like these arise. He is teaching Sammy something. From what I can gather Sammy has handled it well. We will all know soon enough. This writer is just simply pissed that he's not getting his way. Mr. Wright.... if you are reading this.... GROW UP!!!....GO TIGERS!!!!

ever since the University changed its policy that governs access by the media to coaches and players.
Beyond that, Bart Wright has always been more interesting in taking self-serving over-opinionated shots at Clemson University and its coaches rather than reporting on anything of substance or value. The recent article just further confirms it.
There are some very good reasons why subscriptions to the Greenville News are at an all-time low and the Greenville News is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. It's just a shame the Greenville News either doesn't realize or care that Bart Wright is one of those reasons.

If a writer is negative but makes a good, well-written point, that can gain readers and attention. But a poorly-reasoned article like this turns people off and results in lost subscriptions and lost respect for the paper. That's not a winner in today's declining newspaper market.

Dabo has it under control. He'll figure out a way to discipline Sammy without sacrificing our chances to win the ACC and BCS championships. Trust in Dabo! It tears up the coots that Dabo is provinbg to be a superior coach, recruiter, and leader. He has one of the best coaching staffs in the country and nation's top recruits are taking notice. Dabo will drive spurrier into retirement.

Wright is right in this case! It appears that the ONLY place in the entire country where people agree with Dabo's hemming and hawing is on these boards. You can defend him all you want to, but his dragging this out is not good publicity for this University. He should have decided this two months ago. I do understand, and respect, the various hoops that Sammy is required to jump through this summer, but this indecisiveness is smelling to the high heavens and even called "spurrious" by one news agency.

CT88, I know what he said, and I've heard his reasoning(?), but Dabo still should have announced his punishment shortly after it happened. Think of Spurrier/Garcia. That's the comparison for some people--special rules for key players. It should be: "You're a player--you get caught with drugs--first time offense--this is the penalty. Second time offense....this is the penalty." Don't you think Dabo and the Athletic Dept. should have made that clear to ALL PLAYERS before something like this happens? But then, Dabo likes to wing-it and emote instead of thinking sometimes, and that's my main beef with his coaching style.
