Based on the fact that last year's record can be directly attributed to poor seasons by UF, UGA, UT, and CU.
If those four teams were playing up to snuff, and you guys woulda finished the regular season about 7-5 or 6-6.

Whata you talking about, we played up to "snuff" and our "snuff" has been sucking lately. Two or three years ago we had a top 10 class and it didn't pan out so I ain't countin my CHICKENS (####) before they hatch.

No one is depending on him to turn around the program. We are defending sec east champions. I would rather just be plugging in a five star to a winning team than hoping four kids might turn around a program

with this year's recruiting class. Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee's classes were all better than yours this year, depsite adding your 32nd signee in Clowney.

Georgia has been bad for a couple of years now, and may have a new coach by the end of this coming year.
Tennessee was dealing with a coaching transition.
Florida was dealing with the loss of Tebow and now a new HC.
Vanderbilt and Kentucky are never factors (even though they beat you from time to time).
SC is a one-hit wonder... not a program with staying power. We will see that play out in the next couple of years.

I agree that your team doesn't need "turning around," b/c that implies your program is in bad shape.
That being said, you won the SEC East b/c Florida, Ga and Tenn. all had a cumulative record of around .500. Don't kid yourself, you guys need to keep improving in order to not get left in the dust (which is why getting a guy like Clowney is so important).
It's not often that the SEC East champs are a five-loss squad.

Our secondary didn't blow coverage on Jeffery b/c

they were paying too much attention to Lattimore. They blew coverage b/c that's something they did a couple of times almost every game this year, even against teams with no threat at RB.

although we enjoyed ESPNs rankings of Bowers as the #1 recruit in the nation 3 years ago.
If Bowers were to go #1 in the NFL draft he would be the first #1 HS recruit to accomplish this... more often they do not remain #1 at their position thru college.

the head coach does very little actual choaching, don't you? And you also know Clemson has some top notch assistant coaches. You know, the ones actually coaching.

Well they did sign 4 stars Philip Dukes (top 101) and Kelcy Quarles (one of the top 3 prep players), along with the Dixon Bros. That is not shabby

Yeh they signed a great Dline group. The Dixons aren't highly rated but they are both nasty in the trenches. They are returning most everyone on their dline too except Cliff Matthews.
Coots are gonna be nasty in the trenches on the Dline no doubt about it.

Teams in the end have different needs. Our team lost DE Cliff Mathews and DT Ladi Ajiboye so we needed replacement players in DE Clowney and DTs Dukes and Quarles badly. You guys may play in a 3-4 defense so LBs are a huge priority in our 4-2-5 fewer LBs are used. We needed a stud at OT in Shell. We have a stud at RB in Lattimore and a stud WR in Jeffery. We needed a speed WR who may be our Spiller/Jacoby Ford type special teams guy more in Byrd than the receivers you got who may be better receivers? Different teams have different needs you filled your needs we filled ours nothing wrong with that at all.

It makes us look really bad to be talking smack to them when they will return an entire team minus 2 who have beat us to death 2 years in a row. These kind of stupid post are what keeps the coots over here. with out orange color glasses they will more than likely make it 3 in a row and rub it in our faces.

You take them 4 five star players and we will take Devin Taylor, Stephon Gilmore, Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffery. Players that are proven opposed too players with enormous hype. Lets see how they handle college ball. Just remember stars are not everything.
FWIW we do not really need to turn around a team fresh off a 9-5 season with a SEC East championship under there belt. If you think we are going down hill? Wait til the end of the SEC Championship and tell me how that works out boss?
