Nice to see he's getting down to business fast.

That's awesome-anyone know the rules on offseason

Apr 15, 2010, 11:56 AM

workouts and the time frame of when they can work and when they cannot? Awesome to see a coach actively involved in drills

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I love the fact that he wears shorts and gets out there with

Apr 15, 2010, 11:59 AM

them to coach and teach. He obviously loves the game.

It is also nice to see Noel Johnson smiling in photo #2. We really need to keep him (he's even more important than Booker IMO). He will really flourish in BB's system).

Have to believe the players will like that also

Was an OP supporter but he was far more passive-enthusiasm and passion are contagious

yeah, the old classic "coach shorts" made out of 100%

Apr 15, 2010, 12:08 PM

polyester. At one point in the 80's, every PE coach in America owned those shorts.

No way. Cliff's pale knees could scar a man for life.***

Cliff developed more NBA players here than anyone

Apr 15, 2010, 12:08 PM [ in reply to Cliff Ellis used to wear shorts and jacked up knee socks.*** ]

Grant, Davis, Campbell, Wright, Whitney, Gray. Still underated as a coach here. Those last teams with Sharone, Chris and Devin just underachieved and cost him

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I've said it before, I wish we could bring Cliff back as a

well paid assistant to recruit and develop our big guys. Since he left, our bigs have had a really disappointing trend in underachieving.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cliff could flat out coach bigs

Apr 15, 2010, 12:13 PM

he was a class act to my family. Came from Auburn for my dads funeral.

Yup, good guy. I went to a Winthrop/Coastal game this

and loves the beach. Can see him retiring there and becoming a real force as a low mid-major. Cliff was always willing to take a chance on a problem kid, and I respect that. Got Gray from SCU last year and he was great, and has Holmes lined up for 2011-12 who should be dominant at that level

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wonder if Cliff still sings beach music?

Yeah and now that he lives down there he plays a few clubs sometimes. Had another record on 94.9 The SURF 2 years ago.

I agree....I always liked Cliff.***

You see back then it was far more important to be sure your waste band came up to your #######, paying no attention to where the bottom of the shorts came up to.

I think we got an excellent coach!!!

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Was Book at the practice?

Apr 15, 2010, 12:10 PM

It looks like Noel is having a good time, we really need him. Some needs to get Bobo a few protein shakes and an appointment with the weight room. We need him to be a physical low post big man.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bobo supposedly gained 15-20 pounds between last season and

Apr 15, 2010, 12:12 PM

this season. He's so tall and lanky to begin with that it doesn't show much. He needs to do that again this offseason.
