I was in town last week and Sunday the clouds finally cleared, so I got to do some flying. I would have snapped some shots of campus, but a passenger in the back was running the camera, so it was take what I got and be happy.
LOL

What's the scoop with the lakeside restaurant row places.

Feb 11, 2010, 3:14 PM

Do they actually own the waterfront property behind their buildings? I remember back in the early 80's, Wendy's had a dock and my grandfather used to take me there by boat.

Just seems strange for none of these places to throw together a basic dock to get some lake biz in the summer.

Re: What's the scoop with the lakeside restaurant row places.

Feb 11, 2010, 3:22 PM

As you probably know, the Army Corps of Engineers controls all of the Hartwell waterfront. Docks need a permit and there are all sorts of arcane rules and regulations governing the issuance of the permits.

Not sure if this has anything to do with restaurant docks along 123, but it could.

A large boardwalk was built a few years ago

Feb 11, 2010, 3:28 PM [ in reply to What's the scoop with the lakeside restaurant row places. ]

that runs from behind the (former) Astro III all the way to Wendy's that pretty much eliminated that option.
