My neighbor will have to pay an additional $3,850....

Aug 21, 2007, 1:27 PM

to retain his six seats on the fifty yard line. He has been using his fathers 40+ year old IPTAY membership for years and only paying IPTAY $350 per year.

It's time to pay the piper now you free loading b@$t@rd. It is people like this who made the new seat equity plan so necessary and I have no sympathy for them.

Aug 21, 2007, 1:31 PM [ in reply to Re: My neighbor will have to pay an additional $3,850.... ]

My father joined IPTAY in 1969 when we moved to South Carolina and maintained it until 1985 when I graduated from Clemson and started my own membership.

or a winning lottery ticket.

Aug 21, 2007, 1:35 PM

That's $8,400 plus $3,600 for the cost of the tickets.

Is his father at least

Aug 21, 2007, 1:45 PM

alive?

I think that the SEP is very fair and if anyone has a right to be mildly upset it is the folks who have been giving a ton of $$ all along and have not improved their seats because of folks like your neighbor because they are now being told to ignore the fact that your neighbor has been getting better seats than he deserved for years and has a chance to keep them.

Even considering that fact, the plan seems as fair as possible to all involved.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, his father passed some 15+ years ago.***

Any word on IPTAY trying to hunt situations like this down during the SEP implementation?

But he will be one who ####### the loudest.

Oh there's no question, he's pi$$ed

Aug 21, 2007, 2:11 PM

He even went so far as to say IPTAY was taking advantage of him.

Pot...this is kettle...you're black.

This is exactly why this was needed

I cant imagine anyone but freeloaders such as this being opposed to the changes.

This brings back true incentive to give more.

If page 3 of the brochure is correct... He will not be...

Aug 21, 2007, 2:17 PM

to use his deceased fathers membership anymore and he will have to start from scratch. I don?t know how they are going to enforce that, but that is what the brochure says.

Re: If page 3 of the brochure is correct... He will not be...

Aug 21, 2007, 2:24 PM

This has been a question of mine all along. If you look at this it seems that if he just pays the extra money then he can just get the tickets. Then the using a member of the families membership that has passed is still possible they just have to come up with the extra money. The problem is who is going to be able to give that much money now. I know an elderly couple that had seats of the 50 and probably gave the min for the past 50 some years and I know they wouldnt be able to afford them next year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is what

Aug 21, 2007, 2:29 PM [ in reply to If page 3 of the brochure is correct... He will not be... ]

I was asking earlier but did not articulate so well.
Thanks for the answer.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hear, hear, POTD. Even worse are the people who purchase 12

Aug 21, 2007, 2:25 PM

tickets and only give the bare minimum...they will b*%ch the loudest. Who needs 12 tickets anyway? Oh well, this should eliminate most of those situations. Now it will cost them $6k in donation plus $4k for season tickets to maintain 12 on the 50 now...good riddance.
