One thing to remember as you sit down to dinner

Nov 23, 2006, 1:08 PM

this afternoon.

I was just getting ready to head over to friends for Thanksgiving dinner and was feeling sorry for myself because my wife and kids are not here with me and are 8 1/2 hours away. (first time in many years. Can't get out of work Friday)

As I was shaving, I got a look at myself and thought what an idiot I am.

We have thousands of servicemen and women overseas that cannot be with their families today. I remember what it was like when I was serving overseas and it really hit me how inconsequential my being alone today is.

Please, as you sit down and say your blessing today, remember those that are protecting our freedoms and cannot be with family as you are.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you Tnetters out there. Be safe and see you Saturday!

ROLL TIGERS!

These service men and women are special.

My heart goes out to them, and their loved ones who don't have the opportunity to gather together on this holiday. I wish them peace and comfort during this time, and every moment spent away from their families.

You ready...let's go TIGERS!

True. I should know that from my years of Fire/EMS!

Those 24 on and 48 off are tough on the family life!
