What an awesome letter

Mar 5, 2015, 2:58 PM

From someone who recognizes the influence of being a Tiger.

Awesome job Grady, you've made a fan for life.

Great letter

Mar 5, 2015, 3:01 PM

It sure seems that we see these expressions of appreciation from former athletes far more often at Clemson than at other schools, particularly that slum school in the midlands.

I frequen Marshall's thundering heard website and everyone of their players writes these letters... Not really, but I thought I'd just pull this faux claim out of thin air

Wish I had had the opportunity to meet him, he seems like a special man! The legacy he and his fellow seniors leave here at Clemson will be cherished for a long time! Clemson is a better place and a richer family for having Grady as a member! Thank you! May God bless your future and Go Tigers!,

Grady's classy letter seems very similar this one written recently by a Michigan State player. I'm sure it just coincidence as a classy Clemson man would never do such a thing.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Whatever...

Mar 7, 2015, 9:49 AM

Grady made it personal, even including the football administrative assistant in his thank yous. This is not the first time he has thanked, and been complimentary to, the school.

How about going back to your chicken board...maybe pass out some crayons to your players.

Re: Whatever...

Mar 7, 2015, 10:00 AM

place both letters side by side and tell me you believe what you're saying. Its the exact same length. Every paragraph begins the same. He plugged in Clemson for Michigan State, Tigers for Spartans and Clemson coaches and staff for Michigan State coaches and staff. Don't be blinded.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is not the same albeit similar. If he got the idea

Mar 7, 2015, 10:13 AM

from a Michigan State player, what in the world is wrong with that? Jarrett's letter is tailored to Clemson, and is very personal. He names the people he wants to thank, and he includes numerous Clemson-specific references. Is it better for him to recognize a classy gesture and emulate it because it is a good thing to do, or perhaps to emulate players from a place like SCar and go steal something?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: It is not the same albeit similar. If he got the idea

Mar 7, 2015, 10:34 AM

Whatever you want say to convince yourself. It is blatant plagerism. Stealing someone else words, since you like the word steal.

Mar 7, 2015, 10:47 AM

Lol. 61% plagerized. I didn't get this from a coot board. I read the story here. I don't care, he is a great player, but you seem desperate saying that it isn't plagiarized

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you read the comments speculating

Mar 7, 2015, 10:54 AM

that there is a form letter out there circulating from an agent or someone that both players may have used? So what?!! They both wanted to express thanks and they did. How many women have used form thank you letters from Emily Post or some other etiquette guide?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Did you read the comments speculating

Mar 7, 2015, 11:01 AM

Yes I read the speculation, which is all it is, speculation.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Referring to phrases like "I really appreciate

Mar 7, 2015, 11:20 AM

everything you did for me" and such as plagiarism is ridiculous anyway. If I always say "I appreciate your business" to my customers, and my competitor says the same thing, is that plagiarism? Hardly. Plagiarism is about original thoughts and ideas, not thank you notes for God's sake. Otherwise, the phrase "thank you" must have been plagiarized at some point in history, right?

Does that give you a clue, or do YOU need to "learn to read", or maybe do some research?? Trae Waynes and Grady are both with the agency Athletes First. Grady switched to them toward the end of January. Like I said above, Grady made it personal.
