contracted hepatitis C from a blood transfusion in 1991. Four months ago I had a biopsy done, and it turned out that I was in stage 1 cirrhosis of the liver. My Dr told me that I had 2 choices. I could start the only standard treatment there was in the US that has a 40% success rate. Or, I could enter a blind study going on at Duke, and Duke believed they would have a 60 to 80% success rate after the study. I came on here and ask you guys to pray for me, a lot of you did. I went with the blind study at Duke. After 24 weeks in the study, I was tested last Tuesday. I got the results back today. And my Dr was informed that I had been 100% free of any signs of Hepatitis C in my blood after my first 3 weeks of treatment. God is good, Praise the Lord Amen. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone of you that prayed for me. There are thousands that die from this blood virus everyday. Now I'm a survivor, and thanks to my faith in god, prayer, and the very smart Doctors that they have working at Duke University. Now bc of the hard work Duke has done in developing a better treatment for the hepatitis C blood virus, thousands after the FDA approves these drugs for treating Hep C, will now live. The cure rate was better than the projected 60/80%. The treatment is very hard on the people getting it, and they don't know that if the ones it didn't work for, if they took their meds as directed. I went from 220 pounds, down to 160 pounds during the 6 month treatment.

Great news. A few years ago, my brother's fiance had contracted the same thing you did and went to Duke for the same treatment. She had the same results you have had. What a blessing that those doctors are able to do this.
