I think we all know how this season is going to turn out.

Fortunately, the bye week comes at a good time for us. I can't believe how badly we need a week to clear our heads, sitting at 2-3.
But we've all seen this movie before. We'll probably finish 8-4 and 5-3 in conference. As improbable as that seems today, our defense and special teams will likely win us one or two games and the only really good team we'll play is Miami.
But our 5-3 conference record won't win our division; someone will have only two losses, or there will be multiple teams with three losses and we'll lose via tiebreaker.
We'll look back at the Georgia Tech and Maryland losses as being our missed opportunities. Some will use that as a positive sign of "how close we were" and others will mock them openly for that.
We'll be sad to see Spiller and Sapp and Ford go, but we'll be excited about Bowers and the returnees on defense. We'll be anxious to see what Ellington can do as the featured back and what Boyd is really capable of.
We'll be optimistic heading into 2010.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

think again my friend.
there is NOTHING that this offense (not saying team bc for the most part special teams and defense have done their job) has shown for us to win another 6 games. I hate to say it, but it's the truth.

missed FG now have directly contributed to two losses... and had a hand in the GT one.
We got a defense, and that's pretty much it right now.

When we were down 24-21, I joked that I wanted Maryland to kick a FG and take a 6 point lead because our best chance at scoring was another Spiller return.

8 games, not including a bowl game. Loser volunteers to make a $20 donation to the Clemson Fund.
Note that I'm not "sunshine pumping." There's a LOT wrong. But I don't think the wheels will fall completely off. Clemson will do enough to keep the majority of fans cautiously optimistic.

Miami is the only good team left on your schedule? I think NC State, Wake Forest and South Carolina will give clemson all it can handle and then some.

We always seem to ###### defeat from victory, and then turn it around and pull it together and go on a run when fans seem at their most desperate.
There's a lot that needs to get fixed or replaced if we're going to get to the next level. But yes, I see an 8-4 finish.

I believe most of the parts for a strong finish are there, but need to change the offense; anyone can see that. So think it depends on what is done on that side of the ball.

I agree with him (although I'd say probably 7-5 instead of 8-4). We'll win a few games late in the season, end up a game or two away from the title game and everyone will say that we improved so much and showed SO much heart in the comeback. Season tickets will reach another record high. And then we'll all expect Clemson to go 10-2 next year....cue another 7 to 9 win "mediocre" season in which we all say the SAME things,
