"Clemson is at the top of my list right now ahead of South Carolina, but only by a little bit. When I visited Clemson this summer, it just stood out to me from the moment I got there. South Carolina was the first school to offer me a scholarship, so I've got to give them their respect back."
"Both are in-state schools and close to my family. But really, after I saw what happened recently with (South Carolina defensive end Clifton Geathers) getting arrested and caught up, I don't think my mom would want me to be around that, so that's one thing that separates Clemson from South Carolina right now."

the "that" his mom is referring to is the culture of UCS athletes...
like it or not UCS fans, even though you have many, many outstanding student athletes... the eye has been blacked and the reputation developed...
