It's good to be a good neighbor

Aug 28, 2006, 12:34 PM

In just five days or so, probably a couple of hundred Florida Atlantic fans will be making their way to Tiger town. There will be parents, some students, some boosters, etc.

These are faithful folks. They're coming to see the start of what should be a very long season for the Owls.

Before the calendar turns to October 1, the Owls will play at: (18) Clemson 3:30 pm --
Sat, Sep 9 at Kansas State 7:10 pm --
Sat, Sep 16 at Oklahoma State 7:00 pm --
Sat, Sep 23 at South Carolina 7:00 pm --
Sat, Sep 30 at Louisiana-Monroe 7:00 pm

We're all excited about our Tigers this year. We're counting victories, hoping to at FSU, win the ACC, maybe make a national title run. Should be a lot of fun.

Start the year off right Tiger fans. If you see a faithful Owl fan Saturday, treat him right. Offer him a spot at your tailgate, help him out at Death Valley, be a good guest.

Supporting a brand new football program is something I can't imagine. Make them go away from Clemson with positive thoughts about hospitality. It's going to be a long year for these folks, be a good neighbor.

holiday weekend + storm

Aug 28, 2006, 12:44 PM

A holiday weekend + a storm might increase FAU attendance.

If I were a FAU fan, making out to Kansas or Oklahoma might be a bit tough. Clemson and USC are nearly equi distatn, but Clemson falls on a Holiday weekend, so it will be easier to make.

So a few hundred fans sounds about right, especially for the first game of the year.

Best post of the day - I agree 110%

You can be hospitable and still be the most intimidating place to play at in college football. Let's try to be both - nice and respectful to the opponent, but at the same time loud and supportive of our Tigers!!!

Remember every week we have a bunch of recruits making their official visit. Also you never know when a Florida Atlantic, Temple, LT, or any other opposing player may be looking for a great program to transfer to or have a little brother watching that we make a good impression on.

We can't give money to recruits but we can do our part showing our support at the game.

road. I want their fans to compare everyone else to the standard we set.
