What I do find hilarious for our own fans

are the one with plans to save the ACC. It usually starts with ND joining the ACC to bring the TV money up. We all know ND can't be counted on and they are a better fit in the Big 10. ND ain't coming to save the ACC. Then we get a dose of all those teams just sub-par enough to be outside the SEC and Big 10. West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, etc. They don't bring any weight to a great TV deal. The ship has sailed. The SEC and Big 10 have made big boy moves that destroys expansion dreams of the past. They have changed the whole industry just like the personal computer shook up society as a whole. Clemson to SEC. If not then reluctantly to Big 10. If not we sink to a second status power. My heart says no but my head is logical and sees the direction of the future. Just my opinion. Go Tigers!!!!

If we go to the SEC, or the Big10(pukes) instead, at least the payout for leaving the ACC would be covered as soon as the ink dries in either conference. And still have as much left over as we would as if we stayed in the ACC that first year. This deal should've already been turning at least 3 years ago.I could care less about the ACC as a conference.

Unfortunately, as I understand it, the ACC Grant of Rights, legally binds us to give up all our media rights income if we join another conference (both from the ACC that we're leaving, as well as from any other conference we might choose to join). That would mean no media income if we leave the ACC (until 2036). Now, I think some lawyers are looking into the legality of the ACC Grant of Rights to take take all our media rights income--but taking things to court is always a crap shoot (at least, in MHO).
College Football (and College Sports, as a whole) is in total confusion as a result of all these key Universities suddenly switching conferences to chase the almighty dollar! A sad state of affairs that we find ourselves in. I don't see a a happy end for College Football or College Sports as a whole. If we create two super conferences, the majority of the country will lose the ability to support their favorite sports programs because they won't be relevant if they're not a member of either super conference.I see no solution or miracle on the forefront for college sports.

How old are you?

Do you live in America?
I nearly #### myself laughing every time one of you people brings up grant of rights.
It’s a piece of paper. It’s called a contract. Colleges fire coaches every day that have contracts.
America is the most litigious country in the world. Everything you buy cost probably twice as much as it should because of lawsuits. Virtually all of the fun from when I was a kid in the 70s has been sucked out of American life because of politics and lawsuits. Have you ever seen a prenuptial agreement keep people married? That one legged trollop was married to Paul McCartney for about five minutes and got nearly half his money! Contracts are written by lawyers so they can be fought in court so lawyers on both sides can get rich.
If Clemson thinks they’re stuck in the ACC because of GOR then the people running Clemson are stupider than I thought they were. Then again they proved their utter incompetence during Covid so who the hell knows!

Largely agree with you AThomas® and thumbed up - see someone had already thumbed down. Ha.
Anyway, agree ND would need $100M per year to join the ACC. Since so few schools in the ACC compete in football, I just don't see a network or sponsor showing a funding interest in ND to ACC.
As for Clemson, I do not see UGA, Bama, usc, FLA and other SEC teams being overly excited to welcome a competitive Clemson team to the SEC (they may prefer moneyed and football poor UNC and UVA.) That said, the networks and sponsors may support/prefer Clemson's entry (where the rubber hits the road.)
Uncertain Clemson will get an invitation to join the SEC until/unless the B1G offers Clemson. Then the SEC would seek to block/circumvent the B1G move south with an SEC invitation. Lots of balls in the air. I expect Clements, Neff and BOT are making/accepting a few calls over the holiday weekend. And I would not be surprised if Tim Bourret has spoken to some friends in South Bend to better understand the lay of the land. Crazy times.

Agree with all. Very good points. I know many on here don't like Chancey at fanside but he wrote a pretty good piece comparing acc values vs sec vs b1g. Pretty good perspective imo. I'd love to hear Dabo's take on expanding or moving. We've all heard his stance on NIL and portal etc. I am curious what his take would be... Understanding none of us desire to go to the either one.

Have a similar ethical framework but if they also played cfb - traveling to games there would be horrible. Same to Clemson traveling Midwest every 2 games. No thanks!

Dabo has proven you can have values and culture and still win. I also think it’s hilarious that all these people hate on Alabama and forget Dabo grew up worshiping Bear Bryant and Alabama. If the powers that be said Dabo if you could snap your fingers right now and be in a conference which would it be, big 10 or SEC, do you think for a moment Dabo would even hesitate to say SEC? If you don’t believe that I’m sorry I can’t help you. Because you’re just dumb. You’re not living in reality.
And it’s stupid I mean seriously stupid to think that you can’t still be a school in a program with values a Fanbase in a culture with values but not still want to be in the SEC because it makes the most sense in every other way. I mean come on people.
This is the equivalent of sitting down to make a major life‘s decision and you make a pro and con list and when you finish you look at the list and there’s one thing on the left and a dozen things on the right and you say oh I’m gonna go at the left! No! That’s called stupidity and irrationality.

When you keep in mind there were several here that wanted to keep Tommy Bowden in the end, it comes as no surprise. Painful to read some of these scenarios these TigerNet John Doe's are coming up with.

Not sure on if they would not rather have Clemson. Seems they thrive on the best for the most part and seeing they had no issue with OU and Texas I would think minus SC, folks would want us in.

I sincerely hope not. If so, you eager SEC hopefuls will not see the Tigers play for the championship often. Mark it down .

I’m not worried. If Ga can win I sure as he!! think Clemson can. Done beat their big dog twice. Competition normally (minus SC) makes you better

The rest of the ACC with FSU as a lone exception looks at us and sees a football obsessed fan base. They wonder why we can’t be like them and drink wine and talk about basketball at our tailgates. We never have belonged here and everyone with any sense knows it!

Sorry butt ACC is dead my friends! In 4-5yrs, the ACC will not exist. If it does exist, ot will be a branch of basketball, Lacrosse, and field hockey. ACC will never include 15+ schools that compete for football natties.
i could see the conference becoming the CFA (Chick-fil-A) conference since y'all love it so much.
Once ND divulges their new intentions, if ACC is not in their vocabulary, then there is zero chance for the ACC to survive. Our football can no longer be aligned with teams like Duke, Wake, Boston College, OOC's like Furman, SC State, USoC, Presbyterian, Coastal, etc, etc, unless we are aligned with a national group like a ONE conference would offer.

100% agree.
I don’t understand the ones that think the ACC will survive long term. It’s dead in the water. It’s SEC or god forbid the B1G. If we wind up in the BiG I might throw up. No Natural rivals and extremely far travel for away games. It would also hurt recruiting IMHO. But we also don’t want to get left behind financially.

Bingo, our Clemson will be put into a sink or swim situation if everything happens as predicted with USC, and UCLA moving to the Big Ten...
EVERYTHING that is happening with college sports right now, is happening bc the greed of the NCAA, and their refusal to share an enormous wealth with the student athletes. And they got their Greedy A$$ES taken to court. ">">

For anyone that is a Clemson grad, do you think Clemson could survive as a private school as long as Dabo Swinney is the FB HC?
