Win 2 tickets to the Clemson vs S Carolina football game

Aug 23, 2004, 2:30 PM

Note: My 1,000 post dedication is to the Clemson University Foundation! Did you know that Clemson ranked No. 3 in the Nation in Alumni giving participation in 2004 with just over 19,000 making gifts to Clemson?

Enter to win 2 tickets to the Clemson vs. South Carolina football game Nov 20th at Death Valley!

To enter the Contest

1- Answer this quetion: Which school can claim bragging rights as South Carolina's No. 1 ranked public University?
2- Send your answer along with your donation (as little as $10.00 and you DO NOT have to be an Alum) to the Clemson Foundation by Sept 20th.

You can make your gift restricted or unrestricted, I chose to restrict my donation last year to the Student Emergency Fund and to the Preservation of Cemetery Hill.

The Clemson Fund

Annual gifts are the backbone of private support for Clemson University. Gifts to the Clemson Fund provide student scholarships, support teaching and research, upgrade our libraries, fund student clubs and special programs, and attract some of the country's top scholars and innovators. Annual fund gifts also support current operations and are critical in meeting the day-to-day needs of the University.

Clemson's progress has a direct impact on you.

By establishing a personal tradition of annual giving, you help the University climb into the ranks of the nation's finest institutions. Why is that important? Having a top-ranked university in South Carolina keeps the brightest students in state. It attracts industry and means higher-paying jobs, a healthier economy and a better quality of life.

Declining state resources have made Clemson's drive for excellence more challenging. But every Clemson alumnus or friend who makes an annual gift accelerates our momentum to the top.

An added benefit for active annual fund donors is a year's subscription to Clemson World. Because of recent funding concerns, we can no longer afford to send four issues a year to all alumni. A gift of just $10 or more to the Clemson Fund will keep the magazine coming year-round. The 2005 Clemson Fund fiscal year runs from July 1, 2004 - June 30, 2005. You must make a gift during this time period to be considered "active" for the current year.

A gift to the Clemson Fund is also a perfect way to honor a family member and to establish that individual's giving record. Simply note who is to receive gift credit and active donor status for the year. For more information call 864-656-5896.

Architectural Enhancements

The Woodland Cemetery is considered a historical asset in that it holds an ability to communicate, in a unique way, a history of Clemson University. No other resource can portray the University's past in such a way as the Woodland Cemetery. Future development of the cemetery should focus on the preservation of this singular historical record while promoting education and awareness and assisting in telling the story of Clemson's past. To promote the cemetery as a historical asset, physical improvements have been proposed that strengthen the identity and purpose of this place. Among the improvements diagrammed above are:

Cemetery Entrance Gates
Granite perimeter/retaining walls (includes removal of chain-link fencing)
Site Lighting
Narrative Signage
Parking Improvements
Pedestrian Sidewalk Improvements
Landscape Planting Improvements
