It will NEVER happen in Georgia...

For a couple of reasons.
One, the "good old boys" that run the statehouse are all UGA fans and have been quoted as saying that they'll NEVER live to see the day that a Florida Gator is on a Georgia license plate. Hence, they can't allow it for all other schools except UF so everyone gets screwed.
Two, and this goes for all politics in the state and not just license plates. We have 159 counties in the state which, in my opinion, is ridiculous. As a result, these legislators from counties in the far-reaches of the state band together and block legitimate legislation because they don't think it affects their constituency. Liquor sales on Sunday? Nope, because they're a bunch of tee-totalers and religious zealots and won't have any part of alcohol being sold on the Sabbath.
Oh, and the (FSU) Atlanta Seminole Boosters also have a license plate and have for many years. Bob Stuke spearheaded that letter-writing campaign about 10 years ago and allowing "clubs" their own license plate was the compromise.

Yes most Clemson grads living in NC would think it is great. But most tarholes, packers, devils and weak deacons would have not clue and would be confused. A Clemson Tiger paw and South Carolina on the same NC plate. My NC plates are with the Tiger paw and CUXXXX.

You're right - I saw this a few weeks ago myself and checked on it. So far, it is the only "non-Georgia" university club that has a plate.
I contacted one of the Atlanta Clemson Club officers, and they are already looking into it. They are supposed to get an update at their next meeting on June 13, and we'll hopefully hear some news after that.
If that doesn't work, someone had a great solution on Tigernet a few weeks ago. You can buy one of the prestige plates in Georgia and then put a Tiger Paw sticker over the prestige logo. There was a picture of it on Tigernet, and it looked completely official. I plan to do it if the Clemson Club can't get something going.

It was meant for the Georgia crowd above.
The NC Tag looks GREAT though, gotigersnc. Just keep your car away from any Coot Rallies or the like and you should enjoy it for a long time!
