For all complaining about the Tournament Format.....

All we had to do was win........... stop whining and complaining. We always control our own destiny......... if we dont win when it counts, we have no one to look at but ourselves. Stop being Cootish.... let's just win and let that do our talking!

Who has said otherwise?

Of course your sentence does ignore the fact that in pool play we ended up with the same record as the team who won the pool. That means they weren't perfect either.
Its a screwy setup and it seemingly is trying to fix something that isn't broken.

is the fact that the team that tied with Clemson actually BEAT Clemson on the field, so they were better.

So what if UNC beats UVA tonight and then in

a 3 way tie, UVA advances. Except UNC beat them and has the same record. Your logic says UNC is better, yet they don't get in.

I believe regular season record becomes the tie-breaker and Virginia won the division. Nice try though.

Nice try? What does that mean?

The regular season, outside of seeding, shouldn't have anything to do with tournament play. You just said that FSU "actually BEAT Clemson on the field, so they were better" but when it comes to a 3 way tie, UNC beating UVA doesn't matter (even though it was the 4th straight time) b/c UVA won the division? I know what the rules are of the tournament, but that doesn't mean that it's fair or good for baseball. Quite frankly, we've tried it and it is not that good!

Huh? We know how it works according to the ACC rules...

He was using your own logic against you and he is right. Some of us just do not agree with the format and tie-breaker policy as we feel it is flawed.

And what YOU ignore is the fact that the team that tied with Clemson lost to NCSU on the field, so by your logic, NCSU was better. So why isn't NCSU playing UVA in the title game?

"All we had to do is win"
Thats funny....because i could have sworn FSU had to do the same and they lost to a team we beat.
This argument of "all we had to do is win" is such weak sauce. Not one team in our pool won out. NOT ONE.

The team that is advancing beat the team they were tied with. They did settle it on the field.

Florida State 2-1 Clemson 2-1
We played all the teams in our side. Its not like we didn't all have common opponents. We lost to the winner of the bracket, I don't see the issue.

The winner of the bracket also lost to the team we just beat.
This "tournament" determined absolutely nothing.

That scenario could easily happen in double elimination as well

In double elimination we will still be playing and face FSU in the next game.

FSU won when they needed to win. We didn't. Nor did NC St. I don't like the format, but it is what it is. We owned our own destiny and blew it. As did NC St. FSU owned their's and won it.

FSU did not win when they needed to. They got a break from us beating NC State.
You make it sound like they knew when to win and when to lose.

We had our chance. And if you want to say fsu got a break, you could say we got a break when NC St beat fsu and put our own destiny on our own hands.

If Miami beats Wake and UNC beats UVA and it will be a 3 way tie with 2-1 teams and UVA advances. How is that fair?

Conference tourneys are supposed to be a fresh start and give everyone an equal chance to win. The ACC does not do that. How hard is it for you to understand?
