Dear Clemson Administration

Dec 1, 2010, 4:48 PM

To whom it may concern,

I will not be calling, emailing, faxing, or otherwise begging the Meineke Car Care Bowl to invite my Clemson Tigers to their fine event.

Frankly, I find it extremely insulting that your solution to our lackluster performance is to have your constituents participate in such an exercise. I also find it embarrassing that we didn't manage to win a single game against a quality opponent this year, leaving us in the position of beggars to get into a mid-tier bowl game.

It is my opinion that we should fire our coaching staff, go out and hire a real staff, go to a lesser bowl, get our underclassmen experience in the new system, then come back next year and earn our way into a high quality bowl. Please do your job, and stop asking us to bail you out.

Sincerely,
CharlestonTom

Good letter! I assume your Pre-Kindergarden teacher helped you put it together. Why don't you and your fellow malcontent fanatics get a life and realize college sports are just that --SPORTS!!

6-6 team into one minor bowl instead of another minor bowl is the one with no life. Right.

At least his pre-kindergarden teacher has a sense of proportion, which is more than I can say for yours.

Yeah, and a porterhouse steak is just food.
If we aint worth a crap, we should quit playing football. The current program is a disgrace.

Barker employing the same tactics for the bowl

as he did US News and World Report's Top Colleges. He likes to manipulate the system and I refuse to play the game.

players. They are worthy.

Fully agree. Clemson admin enlisting fans to directly solicit the Charlotte bowl indicates that the admin has big doubts that 1) the team will be invited to Charlotte to begin with, and of not invited, 2) fans will not turn out.

The admin is on the precipice of monumental embarrassment and they know it. Ergo, their desperation move.

Nice use of "ergo." I should have worked that in there***

I agree with you BUT....wasn't it just a year ago

Dec 1, 2010, 5:20 PM

that this same board was talking of faxing a bowl to get us in...or was it two years?
None the less just cause they asked you are mad.

Things might have changed just a bit since then.***

Don't you actually have to mail your letter?

What's wrong with wnating us to play in a bowl close by?***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I can only see one sure positive to going to a bowl...

Dec 1, 2010, 5:54 PM

...money. Maybe we can use it the money to upgrade something. A win would be a positive...not a big deal after going 6 - 6. But what if we lose? Just puts a big exclamation mark on a bad season.

The extra practice time isn't an advantage?

Judging by our performancew on the field the last 20 years..

NO, it is not an advantage.

GREAT POST

Dec 1, 2010, 9:45 PM

My thoughts exactly!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I am going to email the bowl

Dec 1, 2010, 10:02 PM

And ask that they do what is best in their oppinion and take the most deserving team... but not to take a team just b/c they have people emailing them.

Clemson dropped their swimming program b/c it "wasn't competitive." I am waiting for the phase out plan for football after this season...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

swimming is irrelevant.

Dec 1, 2010, 10:08 PM

dropped the swimming program because no one cared.

COLLEGE: A three-year starter at strong safety for Clemson, finished his career with 234 tackles and 11 interceptions.

Maryland was a quality opponent, as was NCSU***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed....what a crock of crap nonsense

Dec 1, 2010, 10:19 PM

Get the fans to petition the bowl so they don't look so stupid for having an awful season...

...they say...well we went to this bowl...it was a good season....

...do they really believe we're buying what they're selling???
